my first loo break is about 2am and then again about 6am - the second is not so great as ds1 is a light sleeper so its hard not to wake him up at that time. this morning was great though, he didn't wake til after 8am! :D

ds1 is currently feeding ds2 like a baby which ds2 loves as he still wants to be the baby! think will have a jealous 3 yr old on my hands when baby puts in an appearance.

I want to know this too as we want to go to NY to show baby off to family :) I'm dreading travelling with a baby - especially as I've spent my life being p*ssed off by screaming babies/children on planes :o

We took a 7 hour trip to Bermuda for my BIL's wedding in July with an 11 month old and have been taking shorter trips since the beastie was 4 months old. Feed the babe on the way up and the way down (maintains ear pressure so no screaming), check in early and for a long flight make sure you have a bulkhead. You can have a cot there to make sure the baby can sleep or a bouncy chair so you can entertain him/her and not cripple your back.

The only problem is that the bulkheads have space for two babies, so there's a chance you'll be sitting next to someone else's horror baby (we were on the way out) or if the baby beside you is younger, your OH might be sitting in the row behind. We were sitting next to the worst child ever on the flight out, they had the father in the seat behind and the baby wouldn't stop screeching and trying to kick the feet of mine till I told the woman if she didn't do something to stop her kid kicking mine I was going to tell the cabin crew I'd heard her talking to her husband about how she hoped immigration didn't realise they planned to stay indefinitely :A

I came in looking for something from Courgette, because I really feel for her - is no news good news?

  • Thanks for the responses, I feel much better knowing I'm not alone.

Still no word from Corgette, hope she is having mummy cuddles now.

Just wondered if anyone had any opinions on Cot Bumpers. Are they really dangerous?

    Thanks

On The Edge, they are dangerous in a "toddler can use them to climb out of the cot" kind of a way... Not in a "traps heat and suffocates baby" kind of a way... I've used them with both of mine...

I get up to wee at 4am most mornings. pain in the butt. I hope courgette has popped or is in the process of doing so. I am having a mini freak out about houses and how we are going to fit us all in here or how we can possible afford a larger mortgage with me on maternity leave.

We have sorted out the car seat senario, fitting in Mothercare today DD1 now has a highbacked booster and between that and DD2 stage 1 seat OH and me both fit in the gap and the rear facing infant carrier can go in the front with airbag off, We can also fit in with DD1 in the front in her booster and OH/infant carier in the rear so thats a new car purchase no longer a pressing thing.

I have been looking at bunk beds for DD1 and 2, worried we will still be living in this 2 bed place once baby needs out our room, DD1 and 2 we kept in our room until they are about 4 months then they went into own bedroom and ideally this one would be the same. There is no way we are fitting 2 cot beds and a single bed in the same room.

Oh and i've fallen in love with a house/cottage thing, totally within budget but needing modernisation. Only saw the property listing not actually been to see it but I would love to live there. OH on the other had wants a little modern box and i would hate to live in one, no offence to those that do but it's just not me.

Cat - whats this about free vits?? I saw something in antenatal clinic about them but didn't realise it was everyone, I though just for those who get the vouchers/milktokens. House I looking at is just along from your work, Lintrathen Gardens.

ETA I used bumpers with both of mine, My little chimp actually climbs up cot bars so the bumper was a way of stopping that, damm mon key genetics

    of course, I'd be honoured!!

Seems that walking back from nero (only 5 mins and v slowly) was foolish. I can now not really move at all without horrendous pain. Had a lie down and fell asleep, dh is now on fetch and carry duty for the rest of the day. Meant to be going for a curry with my mum, it's only across the road so will see how I am later. Picking up tens machine tomorrow, apparently you can use them on back pain from 37 weeks so will check with mw and see.

Lilac, we're in a 2 bed too... Our plan at the moment is keep this baby in with us for a year or so (which is what we did with DD2, I was scared to put them in sharing in case they woke each other up lol) and then we will move into the back bedroom where the girls are and leave all the children in our room because it's slightly bigger... If we're still here when DD1 gets too old to share then we'll look at splitting the big room into 2 and adding an extra window...

Moving isn't really an option for us, where we live now is in a decent area, there's a good primary school within walking distance and most of all, it is CHEAP! My mortgage is half the average rental amount round here... It means we can afford to live off one wage so I can stay home with the children and hopefully we'll be able to afford a car once I pass my driving test...
