HAHA welcome to the world of pregnant women. leave your dignity at the door. I didn't see sam mitchell give birth. I find soap births just totally unbelievable. Most people start labour thinking oo was that a contraction... porbably not... oh there was another one.. oh and another oh !!!! maybe its real this time.

Courgette am I allowed to predict baby tomorrow? I disolved into a hormonal mess the day before each of mine were born. No idea why. Sweep is a personal thing, I probably would just in the hope the MW would say i had made progress :T

You know, a few days ago (quite a few actually :o) I predicted 4th September and at the time it seemed such a ridiculous way away that we both laughed at the hilarity of the chance I could possibily still be preggers by then. Little did we know...
    Updating soon...
  • Courgette are you under LGI or St. James's? Just that if you do end up in hospital you can request a private room (if available) after the birth. I'll certainly be doing that, not laying awake listening to foreign chit chat and other peeps babies! :o
    :heart2:Baby boy due 4th March 2011:heart2:
  • Smartie, I wouldn't worry too much... Tracy Barlow named her baby the same as my first at around the same time but nobody ever noticed and she's the only Aimee in her class... :)

Gems, if you have some things you definitely DON'T want then have them written down and make sure your birth partner knows because they are your advocate, they speak for you when you're busy elsewhere... Eg, I didn't want an epidural so I had that written down... I was happy to have the synto but not until the cord had stopped pulsing and been cut... I also didn't want a drip and I stuck by that even after being advised of it hourly for 4 hours... Thankfully my hubby was very positive and supportive of my decisions :)

This time I will also make a note that if I want other pain relief I will request it... Last time the midwife asked me if I wanted pethidine right at the height of a contraction (I was actually in transition and if she'd have bothered to observe me she'd have seen this...) and because I wasn't quite in control I agreed... Baby was born less than 15mins after the injection when it's not supposed to be given within an hour of delivery...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Don't forget things like if you want skin to skin contact, baby cleaned up 1st etc.

I have a very very mini birth plan now:rotfl:I've requested that I have skin to skin as soon as possible after section although I'm aware it wont be "proper" because of all the equipment.

  • Water birth is fantastic, my first was a water birth :)

Smartie, Daddies can have skin to skin too... I made hubby take his top off and hold the baby while I had a shower after my tea and toast...

  • Hey lovely ladies (and men) just wondering could anyone give me a little insight into how many nappies-in each size they have bought for the new babies? So far i have...

    3 packs Newborns roughly 60 odd-huggies
    2 boxes 192 size 3's-pampers

My friend who is ready to have her 3rd child has highly recommended Lidls nappies, she says that when her kids were in pampers/huggies the babys babygros etc would have been slightly damp when it was time for changing?

Ive looked at reviews online and everyone seemed to go for Lidl?

Anyone had any experiences with them?

    xx

  • I bought some lidl nappies when we went on holiday, they were just fine, I'd buy them now but our nearest lidl is a long enough walk away to not be worth it just for nappies... We only use disposables at night time so I can't suggest ratios I'm afraid...
