    morning ladies

I've suddenly turned from being Mrs 'Laid back, babe will be here when ready' to a blubbering hormonal mess. I simply cannot believe I haven't had this baby yet. Even with revised dates I'm now 9 days over. For thoe of you getting fed up with people asking if you've had it all the time, trust me: they stop asking.

I was really looking forward to having a lovely relaxing homebirth in my living room then getting into my own bed with my lovely new baby and lovely husband and son if he's around but the further I go the less likely that looks to happen. I could almost cope if I was showing any signs of going any time soon. I just don't want to go nto hospital, the idea and lying on my back while strangers put things inside me terrifies me. I don't want to make small talk with other mums on the ward, I don't want to listen to anyone else's baby cry, I don't want to be in a different bed without my husband, I don't want babe's first experience of the outside world to be in the back of a taxi being driven slightly too fast through all the stinky pollution in the middle of Leeds.

Since my original due date there have been 11 babies born on that list. I just feel like it's never gonna happen. I have a very high boredom threashold but it's well and truly been reached. I can't go for a walk cos of my morons for hips, driving is really hard now cos bump is so big.

Sorry for the moan and I know this isn't a big deal in the big scheme of things and I never expected this baby to arrive on time given that DS was 17 days late but I also never expected to still be pregnant when the kids went back

Really pleased you're feeling better hngry :D Now go get a repeat prescription before you run out again :p

Courgette have a ((hug)) from me... I went 9 days over last time so I know how you're feeling... And I have nothing to say that can cheer you up because you've heard all the cliches... So... You know... Chin up eh... ;)
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

sorry. I just haven't stopped crying since I woke up this morning, nearly started in the night when I had to get up for my first wee. I just know the longer I go the more chace of meconium so the more chance of a transfer so I'd be separated from my husband anyway so i just think 'why bother' I'll just go into hospital and have it anyway.

It's stupid cos I know I'll be getting even less sleep when babe does arrive and I should just try and relax safe in the knowledge that babe is absolutely fine but I just can't believe I'm still here. Do I have my 4th sweep this afternoon or not? Sick of being proded already and not even had babe yet. This feels like that time at school when the teams are being picked in PE and you're waiting and waiting and waiting while everyone else gets picked

So sorry for the moan. Just feel so lonely and uncomfortable. Going into toen to meet hubby for lunch in a bit but as much as I really want to do that, I have zero energy and really can't be arsed

I know it doesn't much help, but you have my sympathy Courgette, I remember well the feeling of being long overdue, and being overtaken over and over. Come on baby Courgette, get a move on!
  • aww Courgette..hugs from me too :( You must have one comfy womb in there, baby C just doesn't want to leave!

    What does a 'sweep' entail?

I woke up at about 5 this morning for a wee and couldn't then get back to sleep through worrying about the whole 'giving birth' thing. I haven't really thought about ut so far as it's still a way off, and I absolutely refuse to listen to other people's gory birth-stories.

My sister is desperate to give me all the grim details, but I just dont want to know. We all know birth is tough, but it's going to be different for everyone, so no point scaring the s h i t out of yourself with other people's stories!

Did anyone watch Eastenders last night btw> Sam Mitchelle giving birth DID NOT help! Bleeding heck, how much screaming/sweating????????

I've resorted to DTD 4 times in the last 3 days, but all efforts will have to stop if no sign by the end of today, until monday!

Basically, a midwife sticking her fingers inside you and having a bit of a root around to try to separate the membranes around the cervix. Apparently it stimulates prostaglandins that can start labour. It's undignified and uncomfortable, but my second one worked last time, and at 10 days over I was very grateful for it!

Oh courgette:( Go somewhere where you REALLY DON'T want to go into labour and maybe that will jinx bubs in making an arrival;)

Operation get house super tidy ready for Tues (:eek::eek:) starts today! I've already had a go at DS about the state of his room. He may only have 1 arm but I have a huge bump and can still tidy... so no excuses!!;):p

Thanks for good blood congrats!:D It means it's less likely I'll be needing a transfusion!! I didn't say that my wee spilling excitable midwife is gutted she's not able to go to theatre with me on Tues (:eek::eek:) but she's going to visit me on Weds!:D

Fuzz... how did those odd smilies appear on earlier posts???:rotfl:
