Thanks Rach:) all went well, waiting to hear if they've got it all but might not be a definite answer for a while yet! Friend is comfortable and stable, apparently she was moaning more about the sexy catheter and the bag being on show to visitors more than anything to do with the tubes coming in and out of her stomach lol Talk about vain!!:p:rotfl:

Scary isn't it?! Gone are the days where I was quite happy languishing around the bottom half of the list:p

Anyone else aaround 30+ weeks with a ridiculously itchy belly?? Mainly around the belly button(which incidentally is threatening to 'pop' any day now!):o

  • hey twoflower this may help:

    "Discrimination and pregnancy

It's unlawful sex discrimination for employers to treat women less favourably because of their pregnancy or because they take maternity leave. Such treatment includes things like:

    * trying to cut your hours without your permission
    * suddenly giving you poor staff reports
    * giving you unsuitable work
    * making you redundant because of your pregnancy (you might still be made redundant for other reasons)
    * treating days off sick due to pregnancy as a disciplinary issue

Your employer can't change your terms and conditions of employment while you are pregnant without your agreement. If they do, they will be in breach of contract."

It is on directgov.co.uk link to the info is here

hngry, do you not have any of your tablets left? I know you're not keen on taking them but they wouldn't prescribe them if they hadn't been thoroughly tested and declared safe... They might give you a bit of quality of life back... :)

  • Thanks KT. I might given them a go tomorrow, I forgot I still had a small stash left. Not worth it today as I'm not sure they'll stay put. Will speak to my MW at my appointment next week.

Just had some toast. Going to give it a while to see if it stays settled and see where we go from there.

ps feel free to tell me to snap out of it if I'm being too wallowing in misery :D

You wallow in misery all you like... Give me a couple of months and I'll be here complaining about my back and how I can barely walk to the school and back ;)

  • Right the lovely Rac man has gone to buy me a new battery and coming back to fit it, so just going to get washing out on line and then be ready to go to work.

Thanks for the tips about sickness, i did ask about the pregnancy stuff, but NHS has tightened up on all sickness (hencxe my interview) and it all gets included but pregnancy sickness is taken into consideration.

Hello ladies, I've been lurking from the less than 12 weeks thread since, well, forever. I promised not to post here til I got the magic ok on the 12 week scan but twoflower - I too work for the NHS and have already told my employers that I am PG. They have offered me to take as much time off as I need if I am ill and it won't count against me. I'm still reluctant to go off (and I haven't been ill anyay, so far). I do wonder when applying for other jobs they just ask you how much sickness you have had and why, would they be put off by a lot of sickness whether is PG related or not? I don't kow.

At the end of the day if you are ill you are ill. Your bean is far more important than any job....hope it works out ok for you....:)
  • Just a quickie...does anyone know if peppermint tea is safe to drink?

I've looked online and can't seem to find a definitive answer. I know gallons of any tea isn't grea, I'm just talking about a couple of cups a day.

I also have a camomile tea at night before I go to bed..also read differing opinions on this too!

I hope so MV because I've been drinking it to help whenever I have some trapped wind, pharmacist seems to think it is ok too.
  • MV - somewhere (alas in storage) I have a book with all the answers to that. It all depends on how far along you are and what other herbs etc are in the tea. Some are not recommended, whereas others seem fine for a while.

If I manage to find my book I'll let you know.

I'd drink it except that I don't like it :)
I don't think there are many things at all that are really not safe in moderate quantities - and remember that any US advice is very cautious because they assume that pregnant women will get no individual advice or professional input through their pregnancy, due to having to pay for healthcare.
