excellent news welshlassie - I think I am being drawn towards a waterbirth too. Part of me is tempted my the elective c/section as I'm so worried about my hips but I think natural is probably best. I am going to talk to my MW on Friday.

Right, it must be bedtime. As usual DH has woken up bubs by playing his ps3 game!

woohoo welshlassie I've never much fancied a water birth but a bath was lovely when in labour with DD1.

I have to go for by triple blood thingy tomorrow. need t get my booking bloods too seen as MW GP and Antenatal clinic have all failed so i'm off to see the blood clinic boo hisss.

in light of my pelvis giving up already, my tendancy to heamorrage all over the place after births and 1st labour being under 4 hours, 2nd induction 45 minutes from 1st cx to placenta I am terrified i will go into labour while in the house with kids on my own, given that i have had pre e both times I am thinking about asking for an induction on medical grounds. with dd2 they were expecting a heamorrage but i still lost 1.5l in about the 5 minutes it took for the coagulant stuff to filter thru my body. for some reason my uterus lets go on the placenta but doesn't clamp down so i just bleed bleed bleed. The more I am pregnant the more it dawns on me that I have to give birth and doing that outwith a hospital is not sensible based on what has happened before. I live about 7-8 miles from the hospital, maybe 15 mins depending on traffic. I am just scared something goes wrong.

    morning all x

I had a high risk result come back for downs with my first pregnancy it was 1 in 75, I had the amnio which came back all clear thankfully and I probably would not have continued with the pregnancy if it hadn't. Then with DS my result was 1 in 356 which is considered low risk so no further tests but it was high enough to have me slightly worried. These were both triple tests. This time I had the nuchal scan and result was 1 in 15000 or something - I do think it is much more accurate and for me I need to know if I can find out. I'm aware that there is still a risk however small.

Tig tag ouch, hope you are feeling better soon x

I've worked out I have 29 work days left, manager is on holiday for 2 weeks so can't get my NVQ work signed off, still have 5 more modules to go after this one, its so not gonna be done by the time I leave.

Lilac - sounds like you def need to think about that, I agree I'd want to be at the hospital with all the help possible! Have you usually gone over or early or on time?

I still feel happier :) What a difference, like a weight has gone. Think it must just be knowing the end of work and moreover commuting is in sight!

giz - those car seats all looked the same to me. The one work have lent me is like this one just with a slightly different design. Colleague did say that Britax (or poss maxi cosi) make mothercare's car seats for them! I might see if I can get some pads for the straps to make it more comfy. What I don't know is how the hell to fit them!

Rach DS has a maxi cosi tobi car seat as his second size one and he is 4 and has nearly outgrown it and I still don't know how to fit it in the car, its complicated and I leave it to OH. The infant ones I don't think are too complicated, did the lady from work not show you?

I know what you mean re work, I'm not in anywhere near as much pain as you but the walking and floors at work mean about an hour after I start it is as though I have been kicked in the foof and actually by the end of the night I'm struggling to stand so I'm looking forward to maternity leave so much. Other walking can make me stiff but doesn't hurt the same as when I'm at work, I put it down to the hard floors but I can't just sit down if its busy, it was busy last night.

  • Twoflower - as far as I can remember, they can't take pregnancy related sickness into consideration, so if they try, be firm and stand your ground.

Congrats (?) on the twins MOTM. I hope you get your boy.

Having a wallowing in misery day today. Been up with MS since 4am. Tried having something to eat (DH made some very tasty bread yesterday) but to no avail. It was unceremoniously rejected an hour later. Had a good ol self-pitying cry and called in sick to work. Now dehydrated again, but nothing is staying put yet, so having to have very small sips.

Will try and cheer up by midday!
If having different experiences, thoughts and ideas to you, or having an opinion that you don't understand, makes me a troll, then I am proud to be a 100% crying, talking, sleeping, walking, living Troll. :hello:

  • Right the lovely Rac man has gone to buy me a new battery and coming back to fit it, so just going to get washing out on line and then be ready to go to work.

Thanks for the tips about sickness, i did ask about the pregnancy stuff, but NHS has tightened up on all sickness (hencxe my interview) and it all gets included but pregnancy sickness is taken into consideration.
