Ooh congrats to KitKat - looking forward to seeing her first post!

I'm making my OH a "from the bump" present for Christmas - so far I have a bib and a Baby Metallica CD (Metallica songs made into lullabies) - however, I thought it might be fun to make him a tool belt for nappy changing etc! So I've ordered a tool belt from Ebay and thought I could pop a few nappies, pack of wipes, antibacterial hand stuff, nappy cream, nappy sacks etc in it. Any other suggestions for things I could put in?

  • ooh thats a good idea about a spare set of clothes for my drawers in work, cant believe i never thought of that! my work is quite near the maternity hosp anyways so should be fine if labour did start at lightening speed. just starting to feel a bit jittery about everything. i just feel like i have nothing ready for the baby - when in reality ive bought everything, bags are packed etc, i just have a feeling like ive forgotten something?

question about sweeps - are they done by midwives at the hosptial or the community midwife? does anyone know? just asking as i havent got a midwife anymore and i really ddont fancy my old male GP doing it  look at me asking about sweeps and im nowhere near my due date never mind being overdue :rotfl:

so you chose not to find out, or you know but are keeping it to yourselves?

Chose not to find out. Its nice to still have that to look forward to, it's baby's little secret, and will be more of an announcement at birth.

Not bothered about things like planning nursery colours/baby clothes etc - I hate pastels anyway.
We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.

Fuzz - I work with men (only 3 other women on site), and I think they are all secretly hoping I do it quickly so they can help deliver. My plan is leg it home mightly quickly - coudn't live it down if they did have to actually help!
:rotfl:Sounds like where I work, only 3 other blokes and I think they're all hoping I choose them to take me to the hospital if I start off here:rotfl:

Bunny - noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Really really scary being bold! But its ok as am very polite and will let you go first lol

Yeh, I suppose I am slightly mad. But for me it makes sense, especially as my boss has said he is quite happy for me to go and have a snooze in the meeting room if I get tired. I think its also a way for me to still be in denial about the birth. All the time I am at work, my brain thinks it wont happen.

Lillian that is a great idea about Christmas pressie for OH. I have been trying to think what I can do for my OH from bubs. Am not sure that the tool belt will be any good for my OH as bubs will be 3 ish months, but the lullabies sound good. Where did you get the Metallica lullabies from?

lol Fuzz - scary thought letting the men help!
