There's a lot to be said for the argument that babies come when they're ready, so hang on for as long as you feel best for you.
Thank you. It must be very difficult to know you need to be induced for health issues. This is the issue with me (sorry if this is tactless) but there's no reason to induce me, they've just got their dates wrong that's all. Don't get me wrong, I reeeeeeally want to have this baby now but i just fail to see how bringing in a whole new layer of medical intervention is in mine of babe's best interest.
Argh, I'm getting myself wound up over this. No one has even tried to persuade me to be induced, I'm just not looking forward to going to the hospital tomorrow.
I can't have a hospital birth anyway, I don't own any pyjamas :rotfl:Updating soon...0 -
Congrats Freebie!
Sending escape plan vibes to baby courgette.
I think I may be mad but am going to discuss with the consultant if early induction would be looked at as my 1st was a 10lber and they only get bigger in my family ....eeek! AAnd she came through the sunroof as she was being awkward.DS1 arrived 22/02/11! 8lb3oz

Congrats Jojo
I'm having my next dilemma with baby planning purchases...cot/cotbed.
So what are you getting and why?
I thought I'd decided on a £100 cotbed, but after seeing them I'm not sure they would last the length of time they are meant for. So am now considering either a £100 cot, or a £250 cotbed (which seem far more solid).
Naturally I've fallen in love with one:
http://www.mothercare.com/Winnie-Pooh-Cot-Bed-Save/dp/B002JEE1BE/sr=1-6/qid=1283265880/ref=sr_1_6/276-8969502-2295858?_encoding=UTF8&m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&n=44362031&mcb=core
And it's on offer!!! It seemed really solid in the shop and I'm sure it was £250 yesterday. I can't possibly buy one this early though.
We bought the cheapest set of cotbed, wardrobe and chest of drawers from argos for about £250 when DD was a baby and that is what this baby is gonna use too. DS has been sleeping in the cotbed since DD got her bed (saved us changing his cotbed into a bed) and he is 4. I too would not have expected it to last this long but it has. DS one was £100 from babiesrus and seemed loads sturdier I'm sure it would last. Believe me they have jumped around on it plenty.0 -
Fuzz, I have that cotbed as well. Got it cause the OH thought it was quite sturdy and cause of the bedding set it came with. I also got a cot bed, so that bubs can use it, then when number 2comes along bubs can move into a normal bed.
Courgette, try to not get wound up hun, not good for you or bubs. Fingers crossed for the hospital tomo and that all is fine and you can still get your home birth. Am sure KK wont mind being taken off the list, and yes you do deserve something as a reward. I would give you a medal hun xxxx
Oh yeh, forgot to add Congrats Freebie!0 -

glad your scan went well jojo0 -
Courgette - dd2 induction was about 3 mins 52 seconds, ok not really but it actually took them longer to get a venflon in me than the whole labour.
Giz DD1 and 2 both have mothercare cot beds, DD1 is 4 in a few weeks and its still fine but she is getting a big girl bed soon so i can pinch it for new baba. I'll try find them on the site shortly.
My baby girl is nearly 4. she was due september 06 but arrived in October.
Congratulatins freebie
Well done jojo.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000
