Best wishes to Freebie for today, how exciting!
Labour vibes for the other overdue ladies.

Tigtag - I'd probably wait a couple of days then if I hadn't heard anything ring the mw or gp to find out the results of the urine sample.

Claire - sorry I have no practical advice to offer, sorry that you're carrying it yourself - could you talk to family/a friend today? I assume you don't want to tell your DH whilst he's at work but I think it would help if you could talk to someone. ((((hugs))) for you. xx

Courgette - we're the opposite - apart from not being due yet, I'm not ready for baby but OH has had enough of waiting and wants to meet him now!! Bless.

As of yesterday the moses basket is finally cleaned and assembled so baby is allowed to come any time now - anything else we need to get won't hurt, the main thing is baby now has somewhere to sleep!:D:D Oh, and his big sisters are back from holiday today so we won't be in trouble if he arrives early now (apart from queue-jumping trouble:o). And 5 mins ago the cot mattress arrived so that was an exciting start to the day:D

KK - I've had the same worry actually about clothes. Have quite a few very cute newborn outfits which I've washed now so can't return which I can easily see not fitting.

You mention you're really uncomfortable though. Hate to say it, but it could be a sign.

I keep reminding myself that when I had DS (who was 17 :eek::eek: days late!!!!) I didn't have any signs before hand, I just started contractions and that was that. It's still early enough to have the baby today if you look at it like that

Tigs I was going to quote you but got freaked out by all the colours that came up :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I had significant ketones (+++) and proteins in my last wee test. MW asked if I had been vomiting, as it is a sign that your body is having to break down fats as bubs is not getting enough

This was last week, and they have sent a sample off. No idea what is going to happen about it, but on reflection realised that I have my tea about 6pm, then brekkie about 8am, so 14 hours is too long really.

Taken to having a snack (yoghurt/crackers) at about 10pm before bed, and bought some ketone testing sticks from the chemist. Took about 3 days, but they are now back to normal!

Could be coincidence, but hope it helps xxxxxxx
Thanks Em - I think my biggest worry is that I don't have an appointment for 6 more weeks xx would you make one in between xx

Tinks - what did the mw say? Are they not just really uncomfortable BHs?

Tigtag - I would deffo make an appointment. You're worried, you probably don't need to be. 6 weeks is too long to be worried - it's her job to reassure you that everything's okay which it more than likely is

Kiktat - could you put the extra clothes that you might need in a separate bag to leave in the car? Hope the sweep works for you.

Tinks - stay put vibes for you - have you spoken to a mw?

Hngry - do you eat little & often? What sort of foods? Maybe adjusting what/when you eat may help?

    Morning all.

I got home last night to a letter advising me that our 16 week bloods show a high level of AFP and therefore bubs has an increased risk of Spina Bifida. We've been booked in for a detailed scan and consultantant appointment tomorrow afternoon. I know the risk is still quite low and hopefully the scan will confirm all is ok without the need for an amnio. Just wondering if anyone else has been through this?
DH was very stressed about work last night so stupidly I didn't tell him which means I'm carrying this alone today at work. Will tell him tonight of course.

    :(

Really sorry about this news. We had increased risk of Downs and I found out the same week as I was told I also have Group B strep and the same day as my nan died - so I know exactly how it feels. You must feel gutted but try to stay positive the odds are vastly on your side.
We decided against an amnio in the end by that point we already loved our baby and didn't want to risk harming it and we wouldn't have terminated so we're just waiting until it's born, but we didn't tell any family as we didn;t want everyone else worrying about it as well.
Tell OH tonight - I'm sure whatever your result you'll get through it together [hugs]

MW said keep an eye on them and for any other symptons she doesn't think they are BH's. :o

    We'll see can't change things.....

Had a freaky dream last night that bump arrived and was 12lbs!!!:eek: and a boy!!!

I am hoping that it is a lot to do with stress I am so stressed out about the tenant not moving out etc and us having to go to court to evict her. I really don't think that it is helping in any way.:mad: Excuse my french but she is being a complete F***ing Bwitch. For someone who is supposed to be a friend she has the morals of a sewer rat :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
If you can think it........it will happen
  • Sounds like we've a few more babies on the way in the next couple of days - good luck bumps (Except Tink, you need to NOT be queue jumping so early!!!)

I'm getting jittery - have had a bit of bloody discharge the last couple of days and serious period pain/ back ache. I really hope this isn't the start of anything as we still haven't finished painting and we have no carpets in and I'm not ready!!! Has anyone had this so early I'm 36 weeks on Saturday? TMI: I think it might be as OH and I have been trying the perineal stretches and he has rough fingernails because he bites them I wonder if he's just given me a little scratch. He also said the other day it was a bit gluey so maybe I have a bit of an infection (quite possibly, he promised he had washed his hands but you never know!).

Do I need to ring mw?

Just thinking, my appt was last week, my next appt is 2 weeks away, so that is 4 weeks.......if I hadn't been able to sort it, I think I would have done yes.

Have you had GTT? Ketones can be linked to Gest Diabetes but I'd had the test 2 days before so knew I was ok.

If you have not had GTT or do not think you can see an obvious reason for it, then yup, I'd make an appt :D
