smartie I was wondering where you were today. 7th September isn't long away, that's a a fair bit of possible queue jumping going on, lol
Hngrymummy stand your ground regarding admin etc and just consult H&S if required, because they'll try to get you to make up the hours come what may.
Sir monster, glad you got a couple of extra pics, the later ones don't seem as good as the early ones, but they're nice none the less.
seems like quite a productive day that everyones had.
my hubby is out on a stag do, he's not drinking though, I have told him I don't mind if he did. He got a new job today, which is nearer to home than his current one and more money.
I'm off to a girlie night in whilst the lads are out, torturing the poor groom to be. It's 5 mins away from the hospital if need be.0 -
giz - i've got the boots bag although my sister in law is making me a funky bag a bit like this. I chose this as my fabric
I am going for washable nappies too but have been advised disposeables for first week or two anyway when they are so small and at least until you're home. I've got 3 packs all with vouchers which will do for a while i think
Freebie - all the best for tomorrow, we'll all be thinking of you. Sounds like best decision rather than a whole day of hanging around though.
rik - i do wonder if she just wrote your BP down wrong if she was ina rush
MLSL - hope something is happening for you xx
smartie - glad you have a date, even if it's not ideal
hngrymummy - good news about the risk assessment, at least they are taking you seriously. I didn't really even get one! Shame about the sickness but hopefully it is wearing off. what do you do if you don't mind me asking?
I've decided I could write a book or at least an article about how I've been treated on public transport whilst pregnant. I lost it with someone at the bus stop tonight (very unlike me) as I asked her if I could squeeze on the end of the bench, there was plenty of room she just had her giant bag there and she tutted, and dramatically flounced up. I wasn't even asking her to give up her space, there was room for us all! I said something about 'surely it's not too much to ask!?' but clearly it was!!! This was after I'd had to do my public announcement style 'please could someone give me a seat as I can't stand' on the dlr train after a woman took the last seat at canary wharf, even though she saw me heading for it!
Am only half joking about writing something, I work in transport so have a few contacts!!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -

I was advised the same thing and also have 3 packs. Sorry about the way you were treated on the train.
That reminds me, Make it 3, you said (think it was you) that your anti-disposable...does this mean you plan to use reusables when out about? Can you explain to me what you do with them if you're out for a day? I only ask because I can't smell and I think I'd be paranoid that they'd be smelly.Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -

Hi Rach. I'm ok to let on a few more detials now. Have been keeping a bit quiet in case any work colleagues are reading this. I'm an archaeological surveyor. It means that I spend about half my time in the office playing with computers and doing fancy stuff with data, and the other half of my time visiting sites and using fancy equipment to collect the data. I visit all sorts of sites - urban, rural, construction, demolition, motorways, mines etc etc. Recently I've been working by the side of the M25 on junctions 18-29 (wave next time you're stuck in the roadworks!).
I've been able to drop some of my jobs as they involve carrying heavy equipment or whacking wooden stakes into the ground. And there are some sites I can't visit due to contamination risk or lack of toilets or distance from my house. It's all in my RA, which is great.
Hope that all makes sense. Feel free to ask for any more info.
Just watching the Great British Bake off. YummyIf having different experiences, thoughts and ideas to you, or having an opinion that you don't understand, makes me a troll, then I am proud to be a 100% crying, talking, sleeping, walking, living Troll. :hello:0 -

Wow this thread moves so quickly that I always feel that I'm too late to leave congratulations, good luck etc! I can't get on here at work - far to busy!!! Roll on maternity leave!
On the subject of Freebies, I was really pleased with the contents of the Sainsbury's one, I've not got my Boots bag yet but do have my voucher, I also picked up the freebies from Emma's diary this week-end, they weren't really worth it!
Well I have an interview tomorrow for a new job eek!! I've got to give a presentation too, it's only 5 minutes though, I just hope I remember it, I've not practised yet but I should hopefully be able to get through it without too much help as I've read up on the subject lots!!!
Good luck and huge labour vibes for those who need it and congratulations on the new births! Just could you slow down a bit as I seem to be moving up the list a little faster that I would like!0 -
hngrymummy that sounds really interesting!0
