im currently 35 weeks i have one more midwife appointment at 37 weeks then again at 39 weeks, then hospital apointment the day before im due. pinkmexican i would phone them to see if you are meant to have any more appointments because i had to book mine all myself with the midwife they dont do it automatically.

yeah don't worry about those notes. I'm meant to have had a phone call for the MW to say when she wants to come over and "check me out" but nothing so far. She is a bit useless though. I've seen her a total of 3 times and she's my "main" MW.

Rik as a sufferer of high blood pressure in pregnancy that does sound like a large leap, mine at the m/w appointment went from an average of 120/70 to 130/90 and that was enough for her to send me to the hospital where it kept going up!!! I would def raise your concerns with the gp as you may need more monitoring rather than the usual 2 to 3 week appointments they should check your b/p more and check your urine as this could develop into pre-ecamplasia (with protein in your urine), unfortunately they have discovered protein in my urine and do blood tests. The issue is that it can effect your kidneys and also affect baby's growth, which unfortunately is making my bump smaller than it should be. At the last scan baby's growth had slowed down but was still OK, although looks like I'm up for another scan tomorrow. Did she measure your bump and was it measuring OK, as this is another sign . . .

well been for pre-op this morning, the consultant had been so efficient and done all swabs etc at 30wk appointment that the poor student midwife was bemused as to why I was there other than for bloods which the blood room does - so she had a feel of baby etc, then very old foriegn midwife came in and started asking have you had x,y and z to which replied yes, she said ward would shave bikini line on thurs, I said husband would do it night before- student midwife agreed she said nhs razors cheap and nasty.

(this was all after a phone call at 9.30am asking me to go early for appointment as there was a gap between 10am and mine at 11.30am -I went at 11am and was meeting husband for lunch at 12 and didnt want to be hanging about).

Anyway get home at 3pm after a wander round shops etc and have missed 3 calls on mobile from unknown number, house phone then rings and its hospital - could I go in tommorow for c-section, so phone call to husband he wants to know why - I didnt ask, but he says yeah whatever is easiest.

Hospital rings back and its due to them being very fully booked thurs and fri and I was last on thurs list and potentially if any emergencies would have been waiting til 5pm to be operated on - so they had got those that were on ward awaiting slots done today so had space tommorow -

so I am HAVING MY BABY TOMMOROW - NOW VERY NERVOUS ABOUT SECTION

Wooo, I just got a phone call. I'm being seen Friday. Apparently the other MW hadn't spoken to my normal one so she never got the message. Ah well.
