Ooh good luck FQ, I'm sure it will all go fine, and you'll be having wonderful mummy-cuddles before long! I'll be thinking of you.
Thanks text a couple of friends to let them know - 2 that came yesterday and have fab sense of humour, one text and checked I was ok about it and did I have razor ready for bikini line shave tonight, sent one back saying I was nervous but not alot difference a day makes and yes razor ready, so she sent me a lovely text telling me all would be wonderful etc but then put at end to make me laugh - tell husband that a heart shape would be much prettier than a boring triangle and would impress the surgeon!0 -
Thanks for good luck vibes, was originally due on 2nd sept so c-section was thurs 26th a week early so its only another day but kind of seems all of a sudden.0

Good luck FQ with section, can I ask why your are having a section I'm not sure if you said . . At the NCT classes the lady said the first night is hell (sorry to worry you) as you are struggling to pick up bubs, but make sure your partner can stay as long as possible get as many drugs as possible and ask the midwifes for help as much as possible.
Bunny I did get a couple of pics but they weren't very good and we don't have a scanner to upload them. Have a feeling like last time I will be waiting around for a free slot as they don't book for scans until September now just fit in 'urgent' scans!Thomas born 28/08/2010 weighing 5lbs and 4ounces, small but perfectly formed :j:j Now weighs 19lbs and 5 ounces

Just found this link - it's a Dad's magazine that you can read online, it's a bit out of date as the new one is due out in September but some quite interesting articles in it. I've just printed it out at work for OH to read on the train home! I think it's a great idea as us ladies have such a choice of magazines about pregnancy but men don't really have anything, especially with articles about things like miscarriage in.

Sir monster I have a gynae condition called vulvavestibulitus - google for more info but basically dtd to concieve was a trial in itself and normal delivery I would have a grade 3 or 4 tear so not worth the risk and potentially baby could get stuck. I have suffered with it for 11yrs so try not to let it get me down and have tried every treatment going and actually travel 60miles to see a specialist who does trials and is an expert but its one of those things that has its good moments usualy when its nice and can wear skirts so no chaffing from jeans/trousers.0

sir_monster wrote: »Rik as a sufferer of high blood pressure in pregnancy that does sound like a large leap, mine at the m/w appointment went from an average of 120/70 to 130/90 and that was enough for her to send me to the hospital where it kept going up!!! I would def raise your concerns with the gp as you may need more monitoring rather than the usual 2 to 3 week appointments they should check your b/p more and check your urine as this could develop into pre-ecamplasia (with protein in your urine), unfortunately they have discovered protein in my urine and do blood tests. The issue is that it can effect your kidneys and also affect baby's growth, which unfortunately is making my bump smaller than it should be. At the last scan baby's growth had slowed down but was still OK, although looks like I'm up for another scan tomorrow. Did she measure your bump and was it measuring OK, as this is another sign . . .
thanks Sir M.
my measurements are fine, near the top of the normal range and urine was fine too. I'm just surprised the midwife didn't mention anything although she did seem rushed and distracted. My blood pressure has always been on the slightly low side of normal so seeing that in my notes was a shock. I'm going to get it checked when I see the gp tomorrow to make sure it wasn't a 'false' reading, if there can be such a thing.0 -

Good luck again and please post us a birth story when you're up to it - I love crying my eyes out reading themBaby Giz born 6/2/110 -
Pinkmex my last midwife apt was 37 + 6, consultant at 39 + 6 and was due to be left for induction at 40 + 9. Requested an apt today for a 2nd sweep as the one I got from consultant didn't work dispite being favourable. At today's sweep I was still 2cm dialated, she could actually feel babies head and it's fully dialated just waiting for the hormore levels to get up high enough to trigger full labour, hopefully will happen before Thursdays induction. Tmi alert only had sweep at 3.30 and since that dispite being constipated for the last few days I have had a bit of a clear out so it looks like something is working but I'm not getting my hopes up like last time.Busy mum of 3, so if my posts don't make sense or ask a silly question be patient:rotfl:0

Freebie don't panic about your c-section i am due my third this time and my last was very relaxed and lovely (even though it was an emergency) Dh and i chatted all the way through and the surgeons and anesthetist(sp) talked me through the whole thing telling me what was happening and why.
I think the key is to try and relax and concentrate on the lovely outcome.
The worst bit for me was the epidural but i was having major contractions all the time so was very stressful.
The pain afterwards is nowhere near as bad as you think it will be and the key is to keep on top of your pain relief, don't wait til it hurts or try and be brave take it regularly and revel in having to relax for weeks afterwards whilst DH runs around after you.
My sister had a natural birth and she was in a much worse way than i was!!!!!I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.0
