Oops - sorry for Lost spoiler! It's not really a spoiler though so you can read it if you like - it won't give anything away!
OK i read it. I forgive you ;) I already knew Boone would be back. I'm so paranoid about finding out the ending. I'm amazed I've managed to not read anything so far.

Xmas - glad everything is OK.

Are there are any midwives that are any good? Or is it just that you only read about things that go wrong on forums? So far I am really pleased with my treatment and all my concerns about intervention have been addressed and they swear they won't do anything I don't want...

There are good midwives out there - I had two superb ones last time for delivery and postnatal, after a real numpty of a community midwife who did all my prenatal stuff. And I have a really good community midwife this time, she's on the ball, checks her notes before I get there, so she remembers what we talked about the last time, and is completely switched on about who and where needs to be chased for appointments and scans - everything has been bang on time and booked in weeks in advance so far.

I am immensely boring and straightforward as a pregnant mum though, so that must help.

Giz, I would spell it Steffan in Welsh (a single f would be pronounced v otherwise), but Stefan in English. Never seen Steffen, that's unusual.

Giz, We've been downloading it and watching it on the big TV... It's a fantastic series!!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

It is only the one midwife who is rubbish the rest seem to be on the ball and my assigned midwife is/was lovely but i very rarely got to see her unfortunately. In my experience i have always found the young ones to be the worst they insist on doing everything by the book where as the older ones tend to use a little common sense and a lot of experience but i know it doesnt always work like that and i do know a very young midwife who is fantastic at her job. I also think it helps when they have children of their own. So dont be put off by my wingeing one bad apple doesnt always spoil the barral :-) x

    Afternoon all,

I love my midwife, though like Chakani I am boring and straightforward as well.

Congrats NV, and welcome to the new ladies.

Am totally ignoring the list now, as I am getting far too close to the top of it (and its scary). Am also getting fed up of being pregnant now. Have had the past 8 months relatively symptomless, now I ache. My legs ache, back aches and keep getting period like pains. Paracetamol is doing absolutely nothing for the pain. Bubs is also super active today which is not pleasing his mummy as my ribs hurt and period like pain is worse! Its madness, I worry when I cant feel him move, and I moan when he does move! Will I ever be happy lol

I really like my midwife, she seems to use her common sense

    Glad everything's all right xmas

MV my 12 weeks scan pic was better than my 20 week, in fact the best pic out of the lot of them was my 17 week one where she kindly gave me a free pic after having my amnio.

I'm also torn between wanting her here now and waiting till September, but I suppose she'll make that decision for me :p
  • hassel im the same - i was in absoulute agony earlier bubs was doing somersaults. sometimes the pain is unbearable and im not exaggerating! keep an eye on your back pain though, ive heard a few people havent realised their in labour because its all been in their back and didnt have "contractiony" pains at all. i hate when all you can take is paracetamol! i cant wait to have bubs so i can go back to having proper painkillers lol!

Congratulations on baby Kai TNV :T:T So sorry you had a bad time of it though, (((hugs))) to you. x

    Congratulations on team blue MV:D:D

I've seen 3 different midwives so far and they've all been really nice, though I'm another boring straightforward patient.

Going to sort out more baby stuff now:D
