This is frustrating.

When I use the lock button, the screen locks but does not dim or go to the screensaver.

This is wasting so much power having it constantly lit up.
I've messed around with all the settings and nothing seems to fix it. I know my way around a phone and I know it's not me it's it with the problem.

Anyone else with the same problem/fixes?

This happens to my N8 as well, it just randomly happens and then starts working again. I just restarted the phone when it happened last time and it went back to normal.

ok i see some people are having probs, however i still want this phone.

i couldn't see anything on the neilson site - are you still able to sign up to this? sorry if already answered, but i only read the first page and the last couple of pages

no, there was a limited number of handsets and none would be dispatched until all the places were filled, as we have had them for a while now, i think its safe to say that all the handsets have been allocated!

Eventually after 8 resets the lock function started working again...

well i changed my nokia n8 today for a sparkly new one and everything seems to be ok with this one...have played with it all night and it hasnt done anything strange at all !!!!!!!
Hopefully all problems solved and it was a dodgy phone.....

i've only read the last page or so, so those of you who got this phone early - was it a final release version? or is the whole point of this thing with nielsen that you're the trial group to iron out issues before general release? (really sorry if this has already been explained earlier).

reason i'm asking is, i've never had a new model just after it's been released but i'm looking at the Nokia C6-01 or C7 for next month (if available) & don't want to get something that will have loads of problems...

I believe it to be the final release version as pre-orders were despatched soon after ours and besides, i've had no contact from Neisen what-so-ever since getting the free phone...

I also believe, maybe wrongly, that Nokia will be working on updates to correct issues which are usually released around a month after the phone being released...

from what i understood from the small print, i assumed the data collected is all about how everyone uses the device, but i keep wondering if all the data includes crashes and problems we're having with the device, it would be interesting to know. however, i won't be getting any early firmware updates as it seems i have the standard euro product code.
by the way, i've just seen a demo of v2.2 firmware and things are looking good. brand new web browser coming soon!!
