I certainly don't acknowledge every post I read - I get little enough done round the house as it is :rotfl: and I don't expect my posts to be acknowledged either. I am sometimes a little taken aback by the long lists of names that appear in some posts, how do people remember everything and everyone! It's nice when you get a mention but it's fine if you don't.
I agree completely

Haha I thought it was just me that felt that way, the amount of threads I've killed when I've posted on them.....:DBut, I am determined to make the OS changes I need to in my life and so I just keep on posting and asking questions. Sometimes I have nothing to say so I just lurk, other times I am bursting with enthusiasm and ideas and I want to share it with every single person here.

I think it's sad that both Brokenwings and Wishingonastar feel that way. I've noticed both of you no longer posting and you are both missed. It is hard to respond to everyone though and there have been times that my posts have not been replied to but I've never taken it personally, it's a forum and sometimes things are going to get missed but everyone's views are important.
As for cliques, no way jose! There were a lot fewer people here when I joined and it was easy to get close to some but I've made friends among the newbies too, Kaz hasn't been here that long either (relatively) but she and I have become good friends both online and off.
Perhaps we should make a concerted effort to step out of our own lives a little more and make more of an effort to include the newbies until they find their feet in Old Style?Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

WOAS, I know what you mean. I do try (and I know others do) to say hello to new members, so that they don't feel ignored. However, in the interests of not making the thread any longer than it is, I don't answer every contributor any more. At one time I tried to do so - and wound up writing a book every time. Hence, my advice is to keep on posting even if you think nobody is listening, because eventually you get responded to - and it is quite apparent from this thread how many people do actually read your contributions.
Aside from that - and this is directed at everybody, now - have you noticed something? Since this "discuss the Daily Thread" thread has got going, lots of lurkers have decided to support the daily thread and post there. At this rate, it'll be even longer than before the complainers complained!! Tell me off for being naughty if you like, but I think thats hysterical. :rotfl::hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:Weight loss since 2 March 10 : 13lbs0 -
Perhaps the ones that complained should post somewhere else and not read the daily thread?2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

What, censorship now???0 -

I love the daily thread - yes it can be long, but as others have said it is always friendly here on OS - not like one or two of the other boards I lurk on, where there can be a sense sometimes of "well it's ok for you"
You have all inspired me to keep the house tidy, to clean, to keep on top of everything - I would far rather be cooking... If we just read the tips, I would feel that everyuone else was superwoman or man compared with me - but the daily thread puts everything in perspective - how we're all trying to be OS wharever our circumstances.
My thoughts exactly.
I love the daily thread it has inspired me to make changes to my life. Small at the moment but I intend to make more changes albeit at a slower pace. I have learnt so much and as others have said I love hearing what you have cooking that day it gives me so many ideas.
I do think that 3 complaints is a tiny % of all the people that lurk and post so hopefully things will continue as they are.0 -

I have to say I agree with BS. Not censorship, but if you are not interested then don't read it. Credit card board does nothing for me so I don't read it, but nor do I criticise others for being interested. The spirit of this place is supposed to be friendly!
I lurked for a while reading the daily thread and finally pucked up courage to post a few weeks ago, was a bit worried about it but my reception could not have been friendlier. I am mostly stuck at home with two toddlers and it is easy to get sucked into nothingness and depression. The daily posts inspire me to get on and do things, to make something 'decent' for tea, pinch ideas from what others are having, see that I am not the only one suffering, that using the BM regularly is normal, etc, etc. I find the OS board the most interesting and useful on MSE and would probably not bother logging on daily otherwise.
I hope that you can find a solution that everyone is comfortable with.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
