RBS switch - which Scottish branch have you decided to transfer to?

Is there a management charge for having a Drummonds account?
Is the chequebook/debit card branded Drummonds or RBS?
The accounts are the same as RBS, hence the standard Current Account costs nothing. You can choose the Royalties Gold which is £12.95 or the mostly useless Royalties at £6.95.
My card hasn't arrived yet but I'm expecting it to be the same as what I have.0 -
I seriously doubt W&G will be retained, Santander's big thing is to re-brand and integrate their acquisitions. They are simply buying market share.
The RBS branches in E&W and NatWest in Scotland both overlap their main brands in each area. RBSG isn't going to try to buy them back.
The most logical next steps are either NatWest rebranded as RBS or otherwise each brand having full use of the others remaining branches.Rebranding as the old W&G and therefore being distinct from from the rest of Santander would, I think, be quite a smart move.
They will get plenty of goodwill from the very many long standing customers RBS who are and will continue to leave.
They had a good reputation for business banking too which Santander clearly don't have. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Santander have rebranded all the old building societies. So maybe they would brand RBS W&G therefore enhancing their ability to expand next year, possibly buying more branchs from Lloyds.
They have kept Cater Allen and Cahoot brands as well & are developing Cater at the moment.0 -
It's not implausible... but I expect they will expand by slapping a Santander logo on the ex-RBS and NatWest branches without resurrecting a defunct bank.
Cater Allen is a Private Bank aimed at high net worth individuals and
Cahoot is an online only bank. That's why they have kept their own brands.
The RBS/Natwest branches are mass market banks - the same market as Santander and Alliance & Leicester - that's also why they will be put under the Santander banner.Santander have rebranded all the old building societies. It all depends on how Santander want to expand their business after this purchase. Lloyds has branchs to be sold in the next couple of years. At the moment Santander are the only real bidders in these purchases. So they might brand W&G then try to get the Lloyds sales through regulators. Although even this might be too tight anyway.
Was is a fact that the rebranding of RBS, if that is what is going to happen will be major. They cant do a couple of branchs at a time as RBS name in England would have gone. Also all the new cards & cheque books. Its not like the A&L rebranding.
If they dont just close the RBS branchs and move to their present branchs. They now have so many, some have three or four in their town.0 -

Hi
I have a RBS basic current account in England but do not want to transfer over to Santander.
Can I transfer my acc to Scotland or would I have to open a new account using a RBS branch in Scotland?
How would I go about this pls?
Confused!0 -

How can I stay with NatWest or RBS? Call 0800 210 0214 and ask to fill in the relevant forms. Part of the agreement is that RBS is not allowed to market to those customers who have been sold, so you'll need to make the first move.

Caravagio, I have handleed this by opening a new account in Scotland now. It's easy and quick to do online and allows you to move everything at your own speed to the new account.0
