Transferred mine in August took about a fortnight. I expected it to take longer, but obviously the momentum may not have built up by then.

I had to clarify something with them, thats why it took longer. I used the internet instead of calling which was my mistake. But all is okay now.

Just to add, if it hasn't already, that London Drummonds branch 160038 is being treated as a Scottish branch and is being retained by RBS.

I was already aware that Drummonds sort code is not included in the sale

I doubt than anyone here will be applying to move to the Drummonds branch , I wonder if Drummonds and Holts have their own style of chequebooks and cards ?

I can't see Drummonds offering the same product range as RBS

You're wrong on that point. Drummonds has exactly the same products as RBS and the way I see it will effectively be the only English RBS branch.

I've switched my account to there recently.

I agree with that a fellow Drummond.

However I dont feel that RBS would stop having any more English branchs. However I might be wrong & I havent read the EU document. But what would stop them opening a desk in Natwest for RBS customers. Or opeining new branchs in the next few years.

Or even buying the branches back in a few years? Far fetched maybe but not impossible.

It depends on what Santader do with the branchs & what they want in the next couple of years. Lloyds are going trough the same situation as RBS, so If and other parts are going to be for sale. If Santander rename the RBS branchs Williams & Glyn's like the old days then it would be easier for them to sell invest in other brands and sell again if needed.

But the small business is what santander were after. RBS have only got 2% of the retail customers in the UK.

Rebranding as the old W&G and therefore being distinct from from the rest of Santander would, I think, be quite a smart move.

They will get plenty of goodwill from the very many long standing customers RBS who are and will continue to leave.

They had a good reputation for business banking too which Santander clearly don't have.

Santander havent actually said what they are going to do with the branchs yet. They are all over the high street so rebranding them in red would be pointless. They have rebranded all the old building societies but RBS has always been a bank. Also there was talk late last year of RBS rebuilding the William brand ready for a sale. Or maybe RBS would bring back W&G after the sales of the branchs to Santander.

Drummonds is on a need to know basis, a bit like James Bond. Need to know etc.. Or

Is there a management charge for having a Drummonds account?
Is the chequebook/debit card branded Drummonds or RBS?
