Your isp are saying everything via them and BT are fine, so lets have a look at your setup
1.When your router is plugged into the pc, is their a light on your ethernet card? to show its working, I'm asking this because mine went the other week and I thought it was my router but it was the card.
2 Are you using an extension? and if you are, how is that setup
3.Can you plug your router directly into your test socket on your master socket, this is the best way to test for connection/speed problems.
I have a Netgear wireless router. It is plugged in to the main telephone socket via a microfilter. It has an "internet" light which flashes amber while the connection is being established and then stays on green when the connection is fully established. It stays like that for about 50 seconds and then goes off and starts the sequence again. I emailed them yesterday and again today.......no reply. I'm going to cancel if it's not sorted PDQ0 -
I'm looking for cheap broadband. It's mainly so my kids can play games and do homework. It has to be super simple cos I am only just computer literate and would struggle to sort out problems.0

Hi
Yes, but how is it plugged into your pc? You have to wire it first to get a connection0 -
Its a Netgear WIRELESS router. Are you telling me I still need a cable?
I can log on to the router by it's IP address and run diagnostics, upgrades etc. It's the router that's not connecting to the internet0 -

you'll need a wireless receiver/dongle connected to a USB port, or a PCI card connected inside your computer... assuming that it isn't already wireless ready
obviosuly if you can connect to the router wirelessly, then it isn't quite connecting to the internet successfully - but do you see any logs? If yes, what do they say?0 -
My laptop is wifi enabed. The problem's not between the laptop and the router. I successfully downloaded a router upgrade over dialup and then upgraded the router. If I put in the router IP address, I can access it and run connection diagnostics etc. The problem is deffo on the adsl side as the "internet" light wont stay on0

So what does it say when you run connection diagnostics then? Have you got anything else connected to your phone line or is the router the only thing plugged into the master test socket?
Why are you discussing Freeola problems in this Tiscali thread anyway? Start a new thread as it has nothing to do with Tiscali.

Tiscali terminated my Daytime account aftre I dared to highlight their appalling billing and lack of support to CISAS.
They have now taken payment for the month since that termination was enforced and they are charging PAYG to access the email account to try and verify what they have been doing.
I would be cautious getting involved with this 'company'.0 -

It says "LCP is allowed to come up" I only have the router (via a microfilter)and a phone connected to the socket although I did try unplugging the phone.
If you read the whole thread and notice who started it, I'm sure you'll see why I'm discussing Freeola here!0 -

Someone here had a similar problem which was resolved by changing the filter. Posting your routers stats as per the link may help.
Yes I realise that you started this thread but it must be confusing to readers, as this has nothing to do with Tiscali.
