Marmite wins all the time in our house,:T my daughter has 2 slices of hot buttered toast and marmite every morning.
When the jar is nearly empty and you have scraped all that you can out, pour boiling water into jar and slosh around and then tip this into your gravy next time you make it. Very tasty:j:hello: JULY G/C £50 WEEK

Will eat Marmite, but much prefer Bovril....Vegemite lives in our cupboard for the consumption of visiting Antipodeans only...to anyone else it is poisonous!

Has anyone tried Vitam-R? - its a vegan yeast extract - like vegemite, but less salt and kind of mellow tasting. Its is supremely addictive and really hard to find - some health food shops have it. No one else likes it in our house apart from me. It is refered to as 'mummy's yucky sauce' - but they don't like marmite either. I really recommend it if you like yeast extracts.0

Long boring story behind this one, but basically I have quite a lot of bovril.
Any suggestions for using it up? Recipes rather than have it on toast lol.Weight loss to date - 8st 13lbs :j0 -
You could use it where recipes call for stock, particularly beef stock. 1/2 a tsp or so
will add a concentrated meaty flavour to bolognese, chili etc, and a tsp added to your roast potatoes will make them delicious! Also, you can substitute it for marmite in most of these recipes:
