So just for an update. I have called them today on their freephone number. From a rather rude customer services agent I was told that my voucher code had been registered and he was not sure why it was not delivered to me so he would have to escalate the matter. I told him there and then that I wanted a refund and did not want the voucher, to which I was informed I would need to do that in writing from the email my groupon account was registered to and to include full details about the deal.

Here is the funny bit. Asked how long it would take for them to get back in touch, he advised it normally takes 48 hours for a response but that considering the volumes of refunds being processed at the moment I should not expect a response to my refund request until Friday this week.

    eeks!

and my update is that they have refunded me the monies! It will be a while before I consider them again. I will follow ratings for them and only after seeing positive get better will I risk getting bitten twice.

Since we were requested to email support by Groupon (further up this thread), I did so and received the following response last Friday.

    "Hi there,

    Thanks for getting in touch.

We have received your query and we will reply personally as soon as we can. We are currently experiencing delay in getting back to customers but are doing our best to not keep you waiting for too long.

Should this be an urgent request, please do not hesitate to call us on 0800 007 5719 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting 0800 007 5719 end_of_the_skype_highlighting (our lines are open from Monday to Friday, 8am to 7pm).

Also, useful information can be found in the FAQ section of our website.

We are looking forward to being helpful. Thank you for your understanding and patience, as all queries will be addressed.

    Best regards,

Almost nnother week goes by and there has been no further communication other than the usual spam emails, and certainly no voucher. Unlike the above poster, I will never use this company again. Frankly, I suspect that they will not be around much longer anyway.

I deregistered from MSE weekly mail too, as I think it is very poor that they should recommend such a bunch of cowboys with such a dodgy track record. Had I know of past problems, I wouldn't have wasted my time and energy.

Although not the Photobx voucher, I have bought another deal from Groupon today which stated that the offer was available seven days per week throughout September, rang the company to book and they advised was only actually available for 4 dates at the end of September.

I've rang Group on support and they have advised that as they are busy that I need to email the support@ address. Emailed them and received a reply saying that they are extremely busy and that they will try not to keep me waiting too long.

Rang back and asked to speak to a manager as I need this refund asap as I will need to use the money to book something else and was advised that noone was available. I've waited over an hour and a half and called back to speak to a very rude advisor who couldn't tell me when to expect a call back or the refund. Mentioned my statutory rights (as the description doesn't match the goods) and was told that I can happily report them to trading standards if i want.

So, now waiting for a call back - very bad customer services and won't be using Groupon again.

Oh, and when I looked at the deal again it has been changed, so Groupon have obviously realised the original deal wasn't correct. However they now have my money and aren't in a hurry to give me it back!

Just wanted to add my experience- I emailed Groupon and asked for a refund for the photobox deal and it was processed the next day. I have purchased many deals ranging from restaurant vouchers to hotel vouchers and personally I haven`t had a problem with any of the deals and I can`t fault their customer service ;)
  • Very disappointed with his offer, bought the voucher, but when I tired to use it found out it wasn't valid against canvas posters .......

For any of you that missed out on the Groupon offer, you can get the same deal for just the £3.99 postage if you are a new Boots or photobox customer or use a new email address if existing one. It says it is for an A4 26 page baby book, but you can order any of the personalised photobooks by putting in the code in the lin the OP has put in there I have just found out.

According to hotukdeals it is valid until 30/11.

Both my OH and I purchased the Photobox deal too and still haven't received either voucher, it's been over 2 weeks now!!!

Saying that I have purchased 3 other deals through them in the past and they have been fine. :j

But judging by the other posts in this forum it looks like they could be going sour.

(*Unless it's Santander. The branch says they sent you an umbrella 3 times already and don't understand why you don't have it yet and want it back right now!!!)
  • Just to add to the debacle that is Groupon, I finally got a response to the email I sent them with a code but low and behold when I put it into Photobox, it told me the code had already been used by someone else. Have emailed them again but with it being bank holiday weekend I don't expect an answer soon.

Has anyone been receiving junk emails from Groupon with additional offers?

I didn't get my 2 codes for photobox, or any email regarding my comlaint to them, but low and behold, junk email by the bucket despite unsubsrcibing THREE times.

What the hell are these guys up to?!
If Groupon has anyone watching these forums....

    STOP SENDING ME JUNK EMAIL!!!
YOU STUFFED UP THIS OFFER FOR ME AND I NEVER WANT TO USE YOU AGAIN!!
  • I had an order go wrong recently (their fault, not mine) and complained on their facebook page (Groupon UK). Seems the right people are watching that, as it was sorted an hour later...
