  • TalkTalk Company Representative...

I don't really care what you have to say as you simply do not know what you are talking about.
  • OMG that ignorant and officious "TalkTalk Company Representative" has certainly put me off ever having anything to do with this company, better even than your complaints Paul!

...So....im still not clear on this, and even though there has been several long detailed posts from the official rep...is it:

    1) Not advisable to use for business line, and done at the customers own risk

    OR

    2) A breach of the terms and conditions to use it for business

    ????

It has to be one OR the other, not a waffly 'both' or 'either'.

    Its not advisable....OR.....not allowed.

    Dear Mr. Pearson

    Account Number: xxxxxxxxx

I have been a Talk Talk customer for about 30 months. When I joined Talk Talk I asked if my Talk Talk phone line could be used for business. I was assured it could.

However, over the past few weeks a Talk Talk Customer Service Representative has been posting on https://www.moneysavingexpert.com telling me it is a breach of the Terms and Conditions to use a TalkTalk line for business purposes.

More worrying is the suggestion by the same Customer Service Representative that TalkTalk sales staff are prepared to lie in order to generate a sale.

According to your Code of Practice (which I note is for both residential and small business users) are the following five guiding principles...

    1. If we don’t look after the customer, somebody else will.

    2. Nothing is gained by winning an argument but losing a customer.

    3. Always deliver what we promise. If in doubt, under-promise and over-deliver.

    4. Always treat customers as we ourselves would like to be treated.

    5. The reputation of the whole company is in the hands of every individual.

I would suggest that you may like to read the statements made by TalkTalk Customer Service Representative to see if he has adhered to the above five principles:

    Yours sincerely

Paul it might be an idea for you to do some posts quoting the relevant posts from the rep you are concerned about before they edit them...

As the OP has specifically request no further input from TT Rep no further comments will be made on this thread.

Comments made were reaffirmation of the actual term and conditions.

For clarity and in short, my point in full is that with any agreement you can choose to ignore the terms as no contract can take away your free will as an individual, however this is done so at your own risk and breaches the conditions of your agreement for the service you receive.
    Official Company Representative
I am the official company representative of Talk Talk. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"

Just recording that one for posterity.

As a TT customer, who has actually sometimes had positive things to say in defence of TT, (and recommending the help given by the TT Forum)..in all honesty I have to say the above statement is as clear as mud!

I do feel for you, as you are brave enough to run the gauntlet on this site, and the TT forum, in the face of much critisism from fustrated customers, but is that statement really really ment to clarify things?
  • I checked my Talk Talk bill today. According to my bill, my aunt has a Talk Talk landline. I checked with my aunt and she assures me she is with BT! She was with Talk Talk for about 3 days, two years ago after being pestered by TalkTalk sales staff to join TalkTalk. But she quickly left because she felt so harassed by TalkTalk!

The thing is, it means I can call her for up to three hours without charge even though she is a BT customer. Nice one TalkTalk!

I received a communication from Mark !!!!!! today. He confirmed that TalkTalk customers may use their residential phone lines for business purposes and that TalkTalk are happy to provide TalkTalk lines to businesses.

EDIT: The Mark who called me is Mark S C H M I D. For some reason an MSE filter replaced Mark's surname with !!!!!

It is clear from the post below that Mark Davies, Talk Talk Company Representative, continues to express his own views and is not following official TalkTalk policy as expressed by Mark S C H M I D.
