Had great pleasure reading this thread, we were with talk talk for 2 years or so, we have since gone with another service provider, but it tickled me no end when a Talk Talk Rep would phone wanting me to change to them and I would kindly allow them to tell me all about it well until I was asked the question "which service provider are you currently with?" and I would very innocently tell Oh I'm with Talk Talk I thought you knew that should be on your records LOL:D there was always this deathly hush on the other end followed by an abrupt apology and the end of the Call, thinking about it I havent had a call from Talk talk in Ages
I wonder why that is??????
LOVE isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live WITHOUT0 -
I have spoken to three more UK sales staff (Jermaine 5063) and two others who did not wish to be identified. They all confirm that they read a script (supplied by Talk Talk) to new customers, stating that a Talk Talk residential phone line can be used for business.
Clearly, this is not rogue sales staff providing incorrect information. This is information provided to them by Talk Talk. The script is read out as if it forms part of the terms and conditions for Talk Talk service.0 -
Arish (Retentions Team, Durban, South Africa) also tells me that I can use my residential line for business! When I challenged this, he checked with his supervisor who confirmed the same!0

Ah, having spoken to al least twelve Talk Talk representative by phone I have found someone that actually agrees with you. I did not get her name, but she is in South Africa. She gave me a number for Opal!
The problem is, of course, that I cannot move to Opal because I am on an LLU exchange!0 -
I have today spoken to Tasha (4268) in Talk Talk sales. she and her boss (Craig) confirm that I can use my Talk Talk line for business. They have both allowed me to use their Christian name on this forum. Tasha agreed to the use of her ID number on this forum (Craig does not have an ID).
Tasha advised me that I should not engage in any more conversation with Talk Talk representative because the Talk Talk representative is telling lies!! Tasha also told me that I can continue to use my phone line for business.
As before, the phone conversations have been recorded.
I now consider the matter closed.0 -
Hi Paul,
I appreciate that you consider the matter closed.
I am unsure how, when I have only quoted the Terms and Conditions of TalkTalk, that I am mis-advising you or telling lies.
As advised the Terms and Conditions can be found here:
http://media.talktalk.co.uk/sites/TalkTalk/Global/PDF/Complete.pdf
Term 1.1
1. General Provisions Relating to the Services
Eligibility
1.1 The Services are for home use only and not for business.
As such I can only give you the advice I know to be correct. From a legal perspective the Terms and Conditions you have agreed state you are not eligible to use the service for business purposes.
I cannot influence your decision to follow conflicting advice to that which is printed in the official agreement you have made as part of your terms and conditions, I can only advise you what I know to be correct and this term is the first that appears in the Product Terms and Conditions as provided on the TalkTalk Website. If you check your orignal sales literature you will also find this term evident in the same position 1.1.
I have given you the advice I know to be correct in this case, any use of TT service for business purposes would not be supported, would allow for no compensation in the event of loss of business, would not provide any addition fault support in the event of outages. It is at your own risk in the event your feel that you can use TalkTalk for business purposes but as this is prohibited in your terms and conditions TT would not be held liable for any impact on your business should issues occur.
Regards

Quoted that in full, as you seem to think a lot of your terms and conditons.
Would you like to point out why talktalk breach term 11.11 consistantly.0 -
Talk Talk Representative...
I have not ignored your advice about the T&Cs, as you suggest. It is not my intention to break any term or condition of any contract. Unfortunately your 'advice' is in disagreement with most of your colleagues in Customer Service and sales departments. It is also in disagreement with the script still being read to new customers by sales staff and also in disagreement with the training given to Talk Talk staff in both sales and customer service departments.
I do note the earlier 'advice' you gave that Talk Talk have no call centres in the Philippines. That 'advice' was clearly incorrect as Talk Talk do have a customer service base in the Philippines. In fact, I spoke to Cardine (ID 54354) today. He is in the Talk Talk centre, Manila, Philippines.
I asked Cardine for confirmation (in writing) on whether I could use my home phone line for business. He said I could. I told him what you said about the Terms & Conditions and he did go away and then came back and said you were right, the Terms & Conditions do say that a home phone line cannot be used for business.
He gave me a phone number to call to confirm what he told me was correct. The number was 0800 049 1423 - which is Talk Talk sales. I called that number and was read a script which clearly indicated that I could use my a Talk Talk home line for business!
So, Talk Talk representative, if you wish to keep saying I cannot use the home phone line for business, you can. I am now fully aware of what the current Terms & Conditions say. However, there is no such term and condition in the welcome pack sent to me by Talk Talk (as I previously said on this thread) and the Talk Talk home service continues to be marketed as suitable for businesses that do not require business services.
So, unless I get a written communication from Talk Talk that I am in breach of the Terms & Conditions I will not be moving to a business line (Talk Talk cannot supply a 'business' line anyway).
If you want to reply, I suggest you can do so by writing to me at my address on official Talk Talk headed paper and I will respond accordingly; your own colleagues on the Talk Talk forum have my contact details. I do not intend to respond any more to your repeated quotes from the Terms and Conditions on a public forum which serves no legal affect.0 -
We had major issues with talk talk and so glad we switched to another provider. The ADSL never worked correctly & we ahd issues with the telephone service too.
Our estate gets overrun with talk talk sales people every few months who do tell lies
They knock on the door & ask "just checking you got the yellow letter about free broadband"
There never is a letter as its designed to get you to ask questions but then they just won't take NO for an answer.
Gnever take advice from broke or unsuccessful people

I have now had confirmation by e-mail from a Talk Talk representative (Titus in Durban) that I can use Talk Talk services for business use:
This letter is just to inform mr Varjak that he can use his services for business purposes and also confirmed by management
