We pay £1500 a month for a nice 4 bed terrace in central Cambridge. It is expensive but Landlord is having to add an extra £500 a month to cover the mortgage repayments. Husband pays the council tax :o .

SO glad I bought my house in 1998! mortgage is £312.41 and council tax is £133 but I no longer have a lodger so need to get that reduced with teh discount for living alone.
Water is £21 on a meter.

If I get a lodger, I get £350 in rent and bills off them, so it's rather a good earner compared to the mortgage cost!

    I'm in Henley-on-Thames, in a two-bed modern terrace.

  • £380 mortgage and £62 council tax a month.

Not too bad compared to some others on here but I am a single occupant living in the North.
  • £600 a month in mortgage (and insurance) for 4 bed detached villa (Edinburgh). £130 council tax. Now on my own so get single person's discount. House prices here have gone mental, 400% increase since I bought the house. No way would want to be saddled with some of the mortgages that people have now. I know one chap who is paying £3000 a month on a mortgage to similar house to mine in similar location.

I used to pay about £500 a month for a room in a house in London when I rented. Very glad to have got on the property ladder when I did.
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J
