  • Hi,

We pay £395 pm for a one bedroom flat in Manchester.

£80 pm in Council Tax
Classically it is said that money acts as a unit of account, a store of value, and a medium of exchange.

In fact, other goods are often better than money at being intertemporal stores of value, since most monies degrade in value over time through inflation or the overthrow of governments.

  • Our mortgage is £1400 per month. I know it sounds a lot but we live in a very modest 2 bed terraced place- the SE is very expensive.
Debt at highest May 2006: £27,472.24

  • I pay £390.00 rent for a 3 bedroomed terrace house, I have to admit it is roomy and I do like it, pity I didnt own it though! Just dreaming of owning my own little place, a far off dream albeit! haha

Oh that includes rates (n.ire) equivalent to council tax

  • Ours is only £260 for a three bed in County Durham too - obviously the place to be! Having said that we bought a few years ago when houses were cheap. looking to move in the next year or so (hence being a DFW!!) and think the increase in mortgage will be a shock to the system

Our mortgage should be £295 per month now but we are paying £1260 per month to pay off as quickly as possible.

Council tax is £161.15 paid 10 times a year by DD For a 4 bed detached in East Yorkshire.
