Eek we pay in rent for half a two bedroom house what loads of you pay for mortgages - £520 !!

It just shows you how overpriced the SE is. And the rent we pay is brilliant compared to other properties in our area - next door sold their house for £370,000 a few weeks ago. That would be £2500 a month for a mortgage. We pay only £1100 for the whole house - glad we can still take advantage of lower rental market rates.

  • My mortgage is £260 and my council tax is approx £70 per month (over 10 months with single persons discount).

It's a one bedroom flat in the middle of town - overlooking the harbour (well with a little bit of leaning out the window!) and I bought it 5 years ago.

lets do a deal then, you give me your salary till i get debt free, then i'll give you my outgoings so you get debt free. dunno what your salary is but i bet i'd get debt free damn quick on it!

I'm on 44K but have huge outgoings with this mortgage. We've built up about £80K of equity in the house though so I can't complain too much! But if we didn't have it we'd both have no debts as we'd have loads of disposable income

  • We pay £270 a month mortgage for our 4 bedroom Georgian village house and (sorry folks!) £65 per month council tax.
Thing is, we bought the house JUST before property prices went crazy and we're lucky enough to live in the cheapest area in Wales for council tax.....we're miles from anywhere and there's not a lot here apart from stunning coastal scenery!

We pay £750 mortgage for a four bedroom semi in Cheshire. The council tax is about £117. We were lucky to buy about ten years ago as there is no way we could afford to live in this area now.

We pay £1,200 per month mortgage for a 3 bed bungalow in a village in Hampshire. Very nice but bl**dy expensive, plus, what really gets up my nose, £178 per month for Council Tax:eek: , when the only "benefit" we get is our bins emptied, if we are lucky.
