    we pay 600 per month rent for a three bed semi in south east coucill tax is 138.00 per month but the people next door pay 320 per month for the same house as their is councill owend still and our is privately rented

    £750 repayment over 35 years on a 2 bed detached house in Luton.
  • We've been mortgage-free on our family home for several years, so can't give a meaningful figure on that, but the council tax is £85 pcm for ten months. (West Midlands, north of Birmingham).

    550 rent per month for 3 bed house in South Devon, council tax 121 pm.
    Ciggie free 2am 21/09/06. Debt free 25/06/09.

  • £570 pm for a 4 bedroom semi in a Northants village (old-style ex council house).

    C/T £108 a month.

    Edit: Forgot to say this is mortgage, not rent.

    I pay £520pm mortgage (interest only) and make overpayments of £100pm (therefore £620pm in total).
    Council tax is £77pm (with 25% single persons discount)
    This is for a shoe-boxesque 1 bed flat in south London
    Saving for an early retirement!

    £600 mortgage includes £50 overpayment, 12 years left to pay on 3 bed terrace in South Yorkshire, council tax £67 (includes discount for single person)
