ive seen 3 high council taxers ..well 2 apart from me £172 (south wales) a cheshire poster at £178 and above in glasgow at £180. i was beginning to think I was alone. At least unlike GSD4ME i live in a well lit cul de sac, our road and pavements have now been adopted and were finished at the beginning of the summer. lovely smooth tarmac which the kids love on thier bikes.
Policing I have no complaint with at present ..thats cos of the teenage thugs down the village, they are kept busy. Refuse ok ... recycling every other monday, could provide wheelie bins however.
Local schools, hospital and leisure centre could be a lot better!
On dh's current salary we could not afford to buy this house !0 -
I am not sure but in Glasgow my council tax figure includes water but do you guys not pay that as well as your council tax which would bring it up a bit higher.0

We pay just over £1000 in mortgage for a 4 bed semi with granny flat. CT is £113 a month for 10 months - but I've been a full time student for a year (seconded by work) applied for a council tax refund last month and got it - back dated to sept last year so council tax £7 per month til jan!!0

Mrs_Sparkle wrote:I'm on 44K but have huge outgoings with this mortgage. We've built up about £80K of equity in the house though so I can't complain too much! But if we didn't have it we'd both have no debts as we'd have loads of disposable income
i know, it's weird how all this house/equity nonsense works out.
ps with your income i could get debt free in a month and a half :eek:0 -
Pay £525 pm rent for 2 bed flat in South Wales but receive £350 (after tax and expenses) rent from the house I let out. (Long story....!)
Hopefully zero when I sell the house, buy another and become an owner-occupier again
Council Tax about £60 a month I think0
