I've had my LBM and now it's time to sort it out once and for all

Thankyou FSM, I do like a good spreadsheet and %, I just hadn't really thought of doing the % yet since the repayments have been minimal, I like a nice big impact:D
The good news is that I am now on an even keel with all work related things and i'm so so so happy:D:D:D I have spent most of the last 2 years trying to catch up with myself and the day is finally here :j:j:j:j
So tonight I will raise the invoice for the job I finished on friday night and then that is all out of the way(once they've paid of course) . They did say they hadn't yet found my replacement and I nearly offered to carry on but although the money would be nice I need to stop for myself and my family. 2 jobs is enough without the self-employed stuff on top, plus I don't think I should really be doing it as i'm fairly sure my boss would disapprove. He knows about the 2nd job, I asked permission before accepting so that's fine...anyway I digress. All I need to do now is my tax return and notify HMRC i've stopped and i'm all done. It seemed a good idea at the start and would be if I had more time but it's not fitting in with my family as I had thought it would.
I'm also nearly ready to hand over my treasurer job at pre-school, 9 days and counting! And that'll be one more thing out of my hair.
This is all really really good for my decluttering to which is brilliant. DH hates my piles of papers everywhere, but the majority of it is work related, but my 2nd job has a storage cupboard especially for me so I aim to sort loads of things out and take them to the cupboard on friday before I pick ds up and then that'll be gone too. I need to sort the cupboard my way so that I can find stuff. The lady who did the job previously had her very own 'special system' if you see what I mean:rotfl:
I hoping that next week the internet wil be reconnected at work so I wil be able to start on some overtime, mind you that won't kick in til Novembers pay:( but My birthday is pretty much on Novembers pay day so it would be fab if my pay is extra packed:D0 -
So today my MS activities consist of sending my invoice to the people for the work I finished the other day:T Hopefully They'll pay before next friday as dh has booked someone in to service the boiler (as if we needed that this month:mad:) it's an oil boiler so it needs servicing regularly to avoid problems.
My next task is to get my 2nd job stuff sorted and shipped off then I think at the weekend I will try to get things onto ebay and try to keep up my challenge with herewego0 -
it really is a fine balance between raising/making money and keeping ones sanity/life isn't it? and i don't even have kids...
i have a really stressful job and so would like to something less so in the not too distant future - hence trying to pay the mortgage off asap.
i am also self-employed for the purposes of ebay - so it is imperitive to keep up with it, but it's really not easy. i find that there isn't much time left for ME at all:(
glad you are in a much happier position - the only way is up!0 -
FSM, indeed the only way is up, I believe i've hit rock bottom money wise so it can only get better. I hit rock bottom personally a while ago, I think, I wasn't diagnosed with depression but I know I was depressed. I said to a friend the other day I thought I had been and she just said yes you were really miserable for a long time:(
Why is it that depression and money issues go hand in hand?
But the positives are that I am no longer depressed, well not all the time:rotfl: and I'm trying my best with money now.
I'm glad I managed to get my 2nd job, without it we really would be in trouble and it's perfect really since it's a few hours a week from home and once i've touched on each part of the job(there are lots of little bits and bobs to it) I hope it will be alot easier.
Today has started off well, I had my Tesco delivery(had to pay on cc though:o:() and then after dropping the kids to their school and preschool i'm coming home to get my 2nd job up straight and hopefully get some bits ready to take back when I collect ds so that some clutter is cleared from my house!
My 1st job is now up straight and I no longer owe them any hours so next week when the internet is back I will start on overtime. I hope to do 5 hours a week (ish) but i've got half term off work(last week of Oct) so I might try and do 6/7 hours to make around 20hours in total for the month which should give me a nice top up in my November pay.
I also will get on with ebay at the weekend, I like the auctions to finish at the weekend as I think you get more money. Actually I might check the ebay board to see if they think there's a best finish time. Presumably evening/weekend? I know I love it when I want to buy something and it finishes during the week during the day as I think you normally get a bargain then. I've learnt not to bid before the last few seconds for a bargain. Infact a friend recommened a sniper which i've used a few times to buy. I'm not buying anything at the moment though if I can avoid it!!!!0 -
I've just been looking at ebay fees:eek: I have a couple of brand new items, childrens toys that my children wouldn't play with and I thought i'd see if BIN was alot more expensive than auction format, it's not really, theres an insertion fee of 40P rather than nothing on auction, but it's the final value fees that shocked me. I hadn't realised they':eek:re 10% for auction listings and 9.9% for BIN
WOW!!!
I wonder if it's worth selling my bits somewhere else as this seems like quite alot to me.0 -
Morning, ebay fees are not great you could try listing in a local shop the more expensive stuff. I managed 7 items listed last weekend and didnt get any further and this weekend i have the inlaws coming but i will try for 10 again. I have a 1 bid and several watchers so hoping for some extra pennies.MARCH 2016 DEBT £25750/ £25035

NOW JAN 2019 (that still needs to change)0 -
I've just looked into Amazon and  that costs 86p plus 17.25% final selling price fee. That's such a lot of money!!!!!!
Maybe I could advertise some of the kids things in the local paper? I have a kitchen I want to get out of the house(these things are just so big!!)
Or maybe I should just not worry about the fees and stick with ebay:cool:0 -
Morning HWG, I'm going to try and list at least 10 things this weekend. I have a pushchair that's been sat in my dinning room all week (we emptied the cupboard it was in last weekend but didn't get round to listing it)0
-
I sometimes look at it if this was a few years ago i would have loaded the car and taken it to the tip so anything i make is a bonus and it's clearing my house out

Will keep you posted on the ebay listingsMARCH 2016 DEBT £25750/ £25035

True HWG, normally it would be passed on or binned!!
I have listed 7 items so far:T:T and have found a beautiful cot duvet cover my sister brought back from her travels but I didn't use for my dc:o I forgot it was there:o:o so I'm going to keep that for her as she's trying for a baby at the moment:DPresmably she'll like it since she choose it:D
Children are currently running riot so I best get off the computer for a bit btu I'm pleased with myself at listing some things at last.
and the good thing is dh and I have half term off so I should be able to post a few items at a time. Although a couple of things are collection only. I will try and list a couple more items later and tomorrow.0
