Just a very quick post as I haven't been on in a while. Not much happening(as usual) will pay my cc etc tomorrow as that's when all my bills go out and I can tick alot of bits off my spreadsheet. I still haven't used the cc and at least that is a very good thing.
Tonight is the first night of project WORK, as in do as much work as possible without exhausting myself!!! Fri is a non-work day in theory but I intend to do as much work as possible. DD will be at school, ds will be at pre-schoool in the morning so I should have 2.5 hours to work, then when ds is home he is pretty good at playing at the moment so I'll try and carry on as much as I can without neglecting him!!
I need to find about £200 for our trip to alton towers at the end of the month, it's a combined birthday treat for oh and I. I've booked us a room, dinner and breakfast for £100 and then need petrol on top plus food for lunch and dinner another day so I'm thinking £200 should cover it all(I bloomin hope it does!!!) and mean we can have a good time without worrying about the cash.
I've also signed up to a free 30 day trial for Lovefilm, we like to watch films so will take advantage for a month and then make sure I cancel before we have to pay! I'm hoping this will kurb my dvd obsession, ie looking at them in Tesco/Morrison whenver I go in and sometimes just picking something up. Now if I look I can remember the dvd and add it to my list on Lovefilm.
Right off to get ready for work :-(0 -
ok, project work has hit a slight snag. I am able to connect remotely to my work via the internet but my boss, in his wisdom, decided to look into saving a few quid so he decided that he could get away with disconnecting one of the broadband lines, only it is THE broadband line for the office :rotfl: so now my office don't have a broadband connection and therefore we cannot send or receive emails or use the internet, all of which are quite important really, but it also means I cannot connect remotely from home until it's sorted. The issue was discovered late yesterday so today was the day he attempted to sort it out but he's been told reconnection might take 3 weeks:eek:
Although it's not ideal it has made me smile all day as he's one of those annoying smug-git bosses who has recently blocked certain websites(which is fair enough) without warning and apparently he did it 'because he can' KNOB.
So tonight's work will be slightly different than i'd planned as i'll have to set up things from scratch rather than logging onto work and using their computer <<sigh>>
The other good news for me, not so much for oh, is that this weekend is his stocktake weekend so he'll be working late tomorrow night so I can get a couple of hours work done once the kiddies are in bed and then on saturday he's out all day so I might be able to do something then if I can get the kids to play.
On saturday I plan to take the kids to the kids club cinema showing of Shrek 3, then maybe to the park to run off some energy and hopefully in the afternoon they will let me work a little?
And the other thing I really ought to do is list a few bits on ebay, my plan to list a few items a week hasn't got off the ground and I need to start now really. I'm wondering if it's too early to list christmas presents, ie good condition toys? :think:0 -
Keep on keeping on!;)
I've just managed to list 6 things on ebay:j0 -
Right, I thought Oct would be less tight than Sept but it appears not:eek: The problem, mainly, is that I get paid on the last friday of the month, which this month is the 29th meaning the last pay packet has to pay for 2 lots of some bills totalling £185ish:eek: obviously if I wasn't so far into the bloomin overdraft this wouldn't be a problem but I have no slack at the moment.
ooo hang on.....I do however get 2 x child benefit payment's this month (they're 4 weekly) I count a month as inbetween pay days:D that's good then as that is £134.80 so I am then only short by £50 which isn't so bad
I didn't end up doing any work yesterday:o I was procrastinating:o and oh got home from work earlier than he'd expected.
I worry that i'm too good at doing 'something else' and i'll never get motivated to get up todate with work and pay these debts off.
I'm also getting worried the christmas is only 12 weeks away:eek: I have some bits already for dd and ds but nothing for anyone else and i have no idea where gifts will come from:( we already don't buy for adults, only children and i like to think i'm pretty good at sourcing cheap but not cheap looking things. I think the only solution is to GET OFF MY !!!!, GET THIS WORK DONE AND EBAY EBAY EBAY
If only I could find the money tree or the gold at the end of the rainbow it'd all be fine:D
someone give me a kick to get my lazy !!! working!!!
right, off to get ready to take the darlings to the cinema:D0 -
why do I always think of something extra to add once i've pressed post?
My cc provider sent me a letter yesterday, they offered to up my cc limit by £1,000:eek::eek::eek:
Talk about wanting to get you into trouble:mad:
I mean my limit is £7k and as you can see I was up to it, presumably they have noticed my non use since July and want me to get into more and more debt:mad::mad::mad:
I WILL NOT BE TAKING THEM UP ON THEIR OFFER:T0 -
Thought i'd pop in. Nothing at all to report, haven't done the work I should've done:o I was honestly going to do something this morning but I logged onto the web to do something to find my internet had gone down. Then ensued an hour of trying to work out why <<sigh>> all fixed now, obviously but it's thrown me all out:o:o
I shall endeavour to do something this afternoon/evening.
I have done some work for my 2nd job but it wasn't the important things I need to get done asap:o But it is things that need looking at so I won't beat myself up too much.
I am the queen of procastinating, if I can put it off til tomorrow I will
ANy tips on stopping this would be much appreciated:D0 -
my tip, which someone gave to me and was a bit of a turning point, is: just do it/get on with it!
it doesn't work 100% of the time (i still have the odd lapse - like now when i have had a large glass of wine;)) - but much better than i was.
sounds really simple - but was the kick up the **** that i needed at the time. no excuses or procrastinating - just do it! xx0 -
Come on Primrose we are waiting for you to tell us the jobs are done and the money is rolling in, you can do this one gentle kick from me.
Please return the favour i must get on with ebay but i'm just to busy being busy just not sure what with though.MARCH 2016 DEBT £25750/ £25035
EST DFD JAN 2021 (that needs to change)
NOW JAN 2019 (that still needs to change)0 -
Hey Primrose, just aim to do 30 minutes of whatever it is you need to do. Tell yourself you can give up after you've done 30 minutes, and then usually you find you get more done than you expect, and even extend the time. It works for me (most of the time) and even if you do only do the 30 minutes, you've still done more than you would have had you still been procrastinating!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". i'm here:D of course I should actually be working but hey why can't I take a few [STRIKE]hours[/STRIKE] mintues off to check out MSE:D
I managed to get some things done last night and I will endeavour to finish one of them off tonight and maybe if I get time start another but I doubt it!
Work still don't have any internet connection so connecting in remotely isn't an option. so I might not be able to do any overtime for another 2 weeks as it'll take 2 weeks to reconnect. I'm still finding it highly amusing that my boss cancelled it:D0
