  • actually I may pay off the next account with my overtime and new wages. Not sure what the interest rate is but it'd be nice to just clear that off.

oh and another note to myself, get on with your own tax return as you'll be able to claim back NI payments and aply for small earnings exemption. I haven't been paying my NI conts:o as I know I shouldn't need to pay them as I earn well under the small earnings limit, but I really need HMRC to know that too:o last year because I was so lax i missed out on reclaiming my NI conts:mad: what an idiot. It totals over £100 for the year that I have just wasted:cry: FOOL.

You need to google Duckan diet and log into the website that will give you an idea of how the diet will work for you. Dont even think about paying anything you just need to get the book £6.49 off the internet and follow it, it's a high protien diet and I have found it fits in well with the rest of the family. My friend started a week after me and she has lost over 2 stone in 9 weeks she looks fantastic and says she feels great. It works on 4 stages and it not only helps you loose weight it explains how to maintain it after which is wher I always went wrong.
I think paying off next would be great motivation to keep going

  • Thanks herewego, i will take a look.

OMG just checked my online bank and i haven't used the cc since 20th July!!! that's almost 2 months:eek::j:T
  • not much to report on the DFW front. I've been fiddling with my spreadsheets and have decided to pay off the Next card once we've been paid and increase my monthly payment to the cc to £275 rather than £250. It's another £25 which means I'll pay off the cc a month quicker than if I stick to £250 :T I really want to cut another 5 months off the cc pay off date and get it to the end of next year, but that's really ambitious and frankly unlikely. Up to Feb 2011 I will pay off £275 a month, then i'll pay £375 in Feb and mar as these are council tax free months. Then Apr will be back to £275 and after that I can reguarly make the repayments £375 as we won't have childcare to pay for. Then evrything depends on me getting more hours at work in Oct. If that happens i'm plannign on chucking as much of the extra wage into the cc, potentially paying off £675:eek: a month, but that means it could be gone in March 2012 which seems like forever away. but I don't want us to have no money for anything whilst this is happening.

But our mortagage will be up for renewal in Feb/Mar 2012 so it'd be nice to have no cc by the time I need to think about the mortgage. Also the work loan that i'm ignoring(interest free) finishes in May 2012.

    OMG in May 2012 I could potentially have £800ish extra a month:eek:
Maybe we could save more than £250 a month for the house improvements:eek: once the cc has been paid off.

Now all I have to do is bide my time, keep not spending and keep seeing the balances fall:D sounds simple:rotfl:
  • Feeling slightly down today:( it's amazing how debt can be ok one day then the next feels like a ten tonne weight just getting in the way.

I have had to rob Peter, Paul and their mates again to try to get to the end of next week :o by this I mean the 'savings' accounts are again empty all apart from a few pence here and there

Oh decided to buy a bike off ebay instead of repairing his old one and has just gone out to change a few bits over, oil some things etc etc an found that the new one has the same problem as the old one:mad: so has just gone off to the bike shop to see if they can fix it. Once he's back the seller will be getting an email and luckily we haven't left feedback yet so will be able to leave negative if he doesn't offer some kin of rebate for the cost. I know the bike was only cheap but the listing only says it needs a look over before riding, not that it needs new bearings or whatever the problem is:mad: Yet more unplanned for spending:( <<sigh>>

Oh and I got my haircut this morning and it's not how I wanted it. too short:mad: which isn't helping my mood really

and the kids are asking 'where are we going' 'can we go to soft play' and when I said nowhere I don't have any money the answer from dd(6) was 'go to the cash machine' I know she's only 6 but !!!!!! money doesn't grow on trees. so I explained that mummy and daddy both work very hard to EARN money and sometimes we can't take them to soft play because then we can't have any food, buy any birthday presents etc etc I narrowly avoided mentioning paying for christmas (this is a worry for me atm) as I quickly realised that would raise the 'but Father Christmas buys christmas presents' issue and I could do without that

I hope oh comes home without having spent too much:cry:
  • things improved a little yesterday. OH's bike will only cost £8 to fix and I went to bingo (I know, I know I have no money:o) it cost £10 to play and I won £30!! So I went home £20 up:j:T

Today oh is taking the kids to soft play. They NEED to run around and they're only going because of my win!!! I'm having a few hours to myself which will be spent tidying and maybe doing some work for my 2nd job <<yawn>>

oh is taking dd to his friends so she can play with his step-daughter and they can watch footie so this afternoon will just be me and ds. I might take a trip to a bootfair, but i'm not sure yet. Think whilst they're at soft play I'll sort through the christmas buys so far and see what i've got already.

  • :j:j:j :jI officially haven't used the cc for 2 MONTHS:A:A:A:A

I'm not sure how that's happened but it's FAB! The first time in years.

Roll on pay day on friday as I have £20 for this week and I need petrol £10, pay for dh's bike £8, dd's gumnastics £5.50:think: So I need to find an extra £3.50 at least
  • I looked in my purse earlier to find I had £27 not £20 so all is well with my necessary expenses. Petrol bought, bike wheel collected and fingers crossed no spending til Wed and dd's gymnastics.

I ran the payroll today and my overtime brings in another £100 which is just brilliant! I should have the money in the bank on wed, then I get paid from my 1st job on friday <<phew>>

It's oh's bday weekend this weeked and we have friends coming round for a takeaway. We'll buy in some nibbles and snacky bits for the dc but will try to keep it minimal. Also in need of a proper meal plan and cupboard check. I plan to do that tomorrow or wed, probably wed as dd is at gymnastics. Then maybe do a Tesco order for delivery on fri/sat.

I will probably head into town on fri morning to buy a few bits. I want to visit the £ shops to buy the nibbles, then I need mascara, mine is so clogged but it will do til then! I would like to buy a couple of christmas presents to but might hold off til the week after.

Can't wait til next week when both oh and my wages have been paid and I can pay the next installment off the cc:o and I want to pay off the Next card if I can just so that it's gone

I know i keep repeating myself on here but I find it's really helping to keep me focused:o I'm so glad I found MSE and really really hope this will be the beginning of my debt free life

Excellent news on the overtime, that should help with clearing Next account. I have cleared our next account so I know how high the interest is and how easy it is to only pay the minumum as it has a small balance, the feeling of clearing an account is amazing no matter how big or small.
