I've just set up a signature with my debts attached:eek: not a good read.
But postitives are, althought O/D 1 is pretty much at it's limit it will hopefully last the month (note to self, I wrote a chq for £10 today so need to trf £10 into o/d 1 to ensure it doesn't go over the o/d limit <<sigh>>)
O/D has £200ish 'left' to last til payday
I have paid £230 off the cc and I haven't added any new debt to it since July:T although i'd hoped to pay £250 off I had to put £20 to the Next account.
The next balance is going down, £100 left, hoping to pay £25 over the next 4 months, more if I can just to get rid of it.
I have some work to finish(still) and when that money's received i'm hoping to leave it as a buffer in O/d 1.
I will also be getting paid by job 2 this month:T and it's looking like i'll get some overtime still, more work keeps coming along and I have a to do list as long as my arm:rotfl:
Right off to take the munchkin to gymnastics!0 -

hi primrose
you can only go from where you are - but yes you owe less than me too! We are all on a journey...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

it's all the same though, a debt is a debt:( Mine are too much for us really. It's making me a bit nervous. We're nearly up to the limit on the cc and o/ds but it will get easier, we just have to dig in for a few months and try to get through without buying much if anything and if we can do that it will get better. It will.
I know I keep repeating myself, but it's more in an atempt to convince myself:D But this month I will earn extra, and from every month now on. I am flat out with work so I don't have time to go to the shops, which is a good thing. and now my youngest is 3 and getting his free pre-school sessions it will make it so much easier. then he starts school this time next year. I also get 5 weeks holiday from 1st April next year which means one less week to find childcare:T and i'm still hoping to get more work this time next year which could be another £300ish every month. We'll have to see what work says.
I'm a bit impatient
and want it gone now, doesn't everybody?!
Oh and I don't think i've said yet but in a few months we're hoping to get an insurance payout for a car accident that oh had. I think with some of the money we're going to invest in camping equipment, but I think that makes sense for some cheap holidays in the future. I also think the kids will love it. But with the rest i'm hoping that it'll just go to pay the o/d off. Then the cc can just oay itself off overtime. I'm just worried that the bank will recall the o/d and we'll be up s*&t creek without a paddle:(0 -
Hi primrose - hugs it is hard especially at the start but it does get easier... We used to pay £400 a month childcare - now we pay less than £100 as the kids are getting older and need less.... Have you worked through all your big spends to see if you can reduce them and get cashback from places like quidco from switching and saving? Definitely worth a go....
I really need to move my eleccy and gas... hope will get round to it soon!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I've looked into all my bills and am normally quite good a keeping them fairly cheap. I will double check them at some point. One bug bear of mind is that we can't get duel fuel as we have oil not gas:mad: so it penalises us really. I did try to switch elec supplier a few months back but for some reason it didn't all go through and I lost the will to live with it and just didn't bother:o I should go and try uswitch again.
I've never used quidco but ought to look really as any extra cash wouldn't be a huge problem:D
I'm getting nervous about getting to the end of the month without paying for some things on the cc(although still not sure where it is!) I really need to go food shopping as although I went on wed there appears to be no 'diners' of any sort, I need a few things to get me to pay day <<sigh>> I will do a list tonight and see if I can order online cheaply, will use my supermarket I think.0 -
Right, O/d1 needs to be left, no 'spare' in there at all. O/d2 has £170 'spare' so I will need to have to use that. There are 14 days til dh's payday and payday for my 2nd job. So when I do tonight's shopping I need to plan for 2 weeks with whatever's in the cupboard/freezer already and then top up for as little as I can. How did I spend £50 on wed and there's nothing here? I think most of it was drinks, cereal and fruit. I must dig out the receipt.
I might make some cakes, flapjacks and cookies for the kids tonight to avoid 'treat' buys. But I need to look at whats in the cupboard already. and I need to check that I can freeze them all so I can make a largish batch and then freeze the rest in small portions to get out later on.0 -
 the kitchen scales are broken so bang goes the baking:mad: must've been dh as they were fine the other day and he put them back in the cupboard.
I've asked on freecycle but if that doesn't come up trumps i'll buy the cheapest set I can. Might have to wait til after payday though:( Oh well could've been worse. In 2008 in the space of a month the cooker broke, fridge, washing machine, I lost or had stolen my mobile and I got told the car's head gasket had gone:eek: was not good Oh and a week before the head gasket was diagnosed someone stole my catalytic converter costing me £200ish:mad: and my childcare let me down meaning I had to find new childcare at more expense. I think all this was part of the reason I got depressed
and also part of the reason we're in this mess! 2008 was awful:( 0 -
omg! you have to get into quidco (or other similar cashback sites) - there is money to be made on everything you do/buy or just for free!
don't switch elec thru uswitch, check out quidco.;)
renewing insurances is particularly lucrative, but even purchasing essentials thru ebay make you alittle x0
