on the jelly front - we like the lime sugar free one best - we tend to only add about 75% of the water they say and it gives it a stronger flavour.... I also like the orange jelly complete with juice and mandarin bits - again only doing about 75% of the recommended liquid

    hope that helps

  • finally finished the online shop <<<yawn>>> spent £77 incl delivery and should be enough for most of the week and a half. I'll need to top up with milk/fruit etc but should be minimal.

I just had an email from someone i'm doing some work for (bit of private stuff) I had told them I was stopping doing this work as i've got the 2nd job, but i'm wondering if I should say that if they haven't found anyone else and they want me to, I could carry on. They might say no but if they don't it's £150ish every 3 months plus an extra maybe £150-200 once a year, that quite honestly i could use really couldn't I. It's about 6 hours work(ish) maybe a little more. hmmmm, wouldn't hurt to mention surely?

I was planning on de-registering as self employed but if I do carry on I could just apply for small earnings exemption so I dont have to pay NI contributions.

but then I don't want to say i'll carry on and then work say yes to increasing my hours next Oct and I then end up with a 25hr a week job, 8 hour a week job and this extra one for a few hours every 3 months!! That's ALOT when I have 2 littlies.
  • sorry, how rude of me:o thankyou for the jelly suggestions. I think i'll try leaving it out. have some kind of bread based thing, a bit of fruit/veg and a homemade cake/flapjack or crisps once a week maybe. and a carton of juice. I know a re-fillable bottle would be cheaper but I find they spill, no matter how many I try they always end up leaking:mad: and I just bought 10 ribena cartons for £2 which is 10p each so not bad really.
  • Final post for today, but I forgot to mention that i'm feeling much more positive today:j I know this can be done, it will take time but I will get there. at the moment all I can do is pay the minimum repayment(well a little over, £25ish) but in the near future I hope to be able to increase this. I just need to stop being impatient:rotfl: I WILL GET THERE. PMA. PMA.

as an aside a friend recently had a tattoo of her partner, hers and her dd's initials. It spells out PMA which made me chuckle:D I wonder if she realises? If I put hubbies, dd and ds' initials it'd spell out GHD:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Right, ought to head to bed but still oddly addicted to the boards...

  • THanks Savingholmes:)

    IT WILL ALL BE OK

If I keep repeating it, it will come true:D

I've managed to secure an extra £20 a week income for te next 3 months:T so that'll help ease the strain on finances somewhat. hubbie will tell me off for not saying no as I have LOTS on already but it's all money.

I think I might have to give up my volunteering on the school committee though:( as I really have over committed myself :rotfl: Oh well least I won't get bored;)
  • told hubbie. He gave me 'the look' :rotfl:but as it doesn't affect him he said it was up to me.

i'd like to congratulate myself for not using my cc for yet another week:T small step but a necessary one as if I put more on the cc the payments I make won't reduce the balance. I still don't know where the card is actually:o

Oh and I tried the smaller purse, just with cash in and although it's a really good idea and will stop me reaching for the cards I need to remember to not put both purses in my bag:rotfl: doh!!

I also started my diet today:( I got on the scales this morning and it's not good. I knew it wouldn't be as my clothes are getting tight so needs must. Have only had 3 meals and fruit today. no chocolate or crisps:eek: I'd love to join a gym but obviously I can't atm. Maybe this time next year?

Last day of the school holidays tomorrow:T and I survived:T Not sure what we're gonna do but i'm hoping for a fun day without it costing much if anything. The best things in life are supposed to be free

I've had alot of help from friends and family with dd (ds goes to the childminder) which has helped and allowed me to go to work.

TOTALLY agree with the not shutting up:D dd in particular does like to talk:D

Bit of bad news:( dd's hamster died. I went to feed it last night and there it was. dd is only 6 but I told her this morning and said that OH had taken it to the woods on the way to work. She seems ok about it and thankfully hasn't mentioned buying another. I'm sure it'll come up. to be honest i'd rather not get another one. I don't think they're a very good pet for a child us they're up all night and asleep all day. Will see if we can get away with not getting another one.
