My cat Missy went missing last year and I was devastated as you are. Here is my thread - you might get some tips and hopefully it will keep you positive - as I type she is sleeping on my feet, never knowing the trouble she has caused!

I'm going to read now, I have a feeling its going to make me cry quite a lot :( I never knew I'd miss him this much. I just went outside to shout him, just in case and our other cat ran outside all excited looked around and walked back in all miserable. He's now on a pillow at my feet- he's barely moved since saturday and is off his food and in a right mood with us. Oh god and im off again :(

princessleah - I remember your thread! :) There was another thread after princessleahs and that cat was missing for over a month when she came home (pregnant!!)

Gemjar - Keep your spirits up, I am sure he will come home but I think he will be having his end away and getting up to mischief first ;).

Don't lose hope, keep doing the hoover thing - he looks like a beautiful cat and I really hope he comes home soon. :grouphug:
  • Thanks beks- Princessleah your thread has helped me already- Don't shout him when I'm walking away from my house so that he doesnt follow me further away- makes a LOT of sense!
  • Just wanted to add about the not calling as you walk away. One of my cats went missing (he'd been an indoor cat and this was his first unsupervised trip out) and my sister was helping me look for him. She went home to feed her own cat and was calling him as she walked. She only lived a few minutes (human) walk away from me. The next day he turned up in her street! Unfortunately he had been run-over. He's absolutely fine now - after a £3000 operation to put him back together (thankfully insured). Anyway, we think he heard her and followed her. Maybe if she's only called on the way back to my house, he could have gotten home.

Aww bless your cat, I hope it works with ours, he's an outside cat and scared of new people and cars so he runs away- I hope he did anyway! It's been too long now I'm beginning to think he might not come back.

Our cat went missing for nearly 6 weeks. We dont know to this day what made him run away but when we found him he was pleased as punch to see us! Have you any elderly people's estates around where you live? Many old people will feed cats outside, even those who dont belong to them, this is how ours was able to sustain his weight whilst he was missing. If he has strayed away from his normal area he may well be getting into fights, its worth asking people when you are looking for him. We were able to trace ours to a particular area when we found loads of his fur.

Everything crossed he will be home soon. xxxxxxxxx

    Has there been any change?

It is heart breaking when they don't come home.

OP, have you placed a LOST ad in the local paper? And notices in your local shop windows? Vets? That might help. I keep checking this thread hoping there's been some good news :(

Best of luck, fingers crossed here for your little one.
