What a worry. Is he chipped? If he is call all the local cat protection league, RSPCA etc, he might have been handed in. We lost a cat and put posters on lamposts and leaflets through letterboxes - he may be trapped in a garage or shed. With our current cats one went missing for 4 days but he came back.0

I do feel for you - I don't know what I'd do if mine went missing. I hope he comes back soon0

yes he's gorgeous! Cat's pretty cute too! (I'm sorry, I couldn't resist, I hope you don't see that as too flippant when you're so upset.)
I can't imagine how you're feeling, I get stressed if our cats are "missing" for ten minutes (ie in neighbours garden; hiding in a bush etc). God knows what I would be like if they properly went missing.
One thing I have heard can work is dumping the contents of your hoover bag all around the outside of the house/garden to provide a smell trace. You could even put some little piles along the pavement.
Have you asked neighbours to check their garages or sheds in case he has got shut in? Seems to be lots of people doing things in their gardens at the moment, so outbuildings could have been open and closed a lot throughout the weekend.
Re foxes - I have heard that cats can usually see off a fox with their sharp claws - foxes won't want those near their eyes and so don't usually get close enough to grab the cat with their teeth. Plus in most areas foxes are usually pretty well fed by household rubbish, so wouldn't be desperate enough to go after a cat. And even though your cat's eyes might not be great, his sense of smell will do him right, I'm sure.
I won't give you any other advice as I'm sure you've done it all. But just wanted to check - have you called every vets in your area? (obviously if he's microchipped that won't be strictly necessary but can't hurt).0 -
Hope he comes home soon
We lost our cat soon after our old cat passed way 2 years ago and after about 6 weeks after we got him he dissapeared, we did leaflet drops and posters on lamp posts
After a week he just came back and rather hungry, he had been chipped too. Last Summer we had a stray took him to vets and found the owner through that
Hope he comes back he looks lovely
Cats are quite resourceful pets I think he should be okay with foxes we get them and our cat always goes out at night well at 4am ish he does as he wakes me up and after do the cat flap0 -
I've got my fingeres crossed for Bo's safe return. Im also in Hampshire - im not too sure how far away I am from you as I still dont know the area - but if I hear anything what so ever I will PM you. Preloved is also a fab website for putting lost dogs on.0

Hi thanks for all the replies, he's still not back
a friend round the corner recons a ginger cat has been following his cat (and her 5 new kittens- oops!) around for the past few days, the OH is on his way round to see if he can see him now. Just made his missing poster, am in tears looking at all the pictures of him
might put a couple on here to show people how gorgeous he is. Also, Morg, thats my housemate, you're welcome to him

I would try putting leaflets through peoples doors too, ask them if they can check garages etc
Is he microchipped/wearing a collar. What is his medical condition? Also is he spayed ... if not, he wont come back until he has got his 'just deserts'!!!!
I really hope he turns up soon, don't lose hope as many cats reported as missing on here have turned up safe and sound, even months later.
Fingers crossed for you. x0 -

He's not chipped- we're idiots! Only time we took him to get chipped he was too small or too ill! Basically we got him because he looked really badly treated by the man that was selling him. When we got him he wasn't vaccinated and had catflu so now he gets eye infections quite a lot, especially when he gets stressed
I've put letters through all the neighbours doors (I only actually know the people from one house on this street... theres 80 odd houses!) but I've had some lovely letters back saying he's not in their garages but they'll keep looking.
Thing is, he was supposed to be going in to get spayed at 3pm today!! I'm now thinking he somehow knew and has done one- so fingers crossed he might come back tomorrow?? I really really hope so because we're all missing him so so so much.
He really is a lovely cat with a fantastic personality and I miss him spread out as wide as possible across the best chair in the house just to wind everyone up.0 -
Hope you are reunited with your pet soon.
On a practical note, have you checked your pet insurance - many offer to pay for advertising costs (local papers, photocopying of leaflets for putting in doors and the like), and also rewards.0
