Just tried live chat to ask about the 50% offered on the app and asked if this could be combined with the 12 months free broadband I had been offered on the phone but they said they only deal with tv and couldn't discuss broadband - never had this before.

I found the Virgin Media retention thread (https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1021885) after I posted on this one, and then wasn't sure whether to delete my post on this thread. I've deleted my post here.
  • How are they allowed to do this?

I put in cancellation notice and service is due to end 30 April. Within a day on the Sky Service android app it had huge retention notice indicating 50% off to stay with them for further 12 months. However, if you click on the terms and conditions that 50% has suddenly been dropped to only 35%! Now let's accept that you're not dumb enough to check the T&C but surely they should not be able to do this?

Since putting in notice had one call trying to persuade me to stay but they weren't offering any better than 35% off which I politely refused.

Has anyone got a better offer of late or even a please come back offer after the service went off?

You should be able to get 50% off and £100 credit.....that's what I got

Well I got a retentions call last night and was offered 2 months free. That's it. 2 months free then back to full price.

    No thanks.

We are with Sky at the moment in my partners name.

I've seen the deal advertised on MSE for £30 a month for sky with sports and movies, for new customers only.

Our contract is up shortly. Could we cancel our sky and I sign up in my name to obtain the £30 a month deal?

    I did ask on the general Sky thread but realised I might be better off starting a new question;

We are currently with Sky in my partners name, can cancel it now if we want.

I've seen the deal on here for £30 a month Sky tv incl Sports and Movies.

I have never been with Sky so could I sign up for this deal as a new customer??

    Hi,

I was switched off about 2 weeks ago and went onto live chat yesterday.

I was offered 50% off yesterday with a £50 credit and no contract.

I am unsure as to whether this is good enough really for me part with my money. It will still be £19/ month (family pack).

I would love to know how I beat this and get what you got, a £100. Is that possible?

If its no contract and i cancelled I will assume they are NOT likely to offer anything again for one to come back?

    thanks

Here we go again - another offer to NEW customers - all the years of LOYALTY being thrown straight back in your face - I have been a Sky customer for 13 years and, last month - signed up for another 12 months (after negotiating a 25% discount) - still paying over £32 with NO SPORT and NO MOVIES

I am not sure if that is aimed at me?

If it is I am not a NEW customer, I have been a custoemr of sky for many many years.

Anyhow can anyone help with my post above?
