Following my success earlier this week - 50% off family package and £50 credit thought would try the BB/LR.
Nothing offered on live chat so cancelled on Tuesday. Had an e-mail today saying to call a retention number and after a bit of back and forth and speaking to "managers" they offered free line rental for 12m. Tried to get 1/2 price BB, as some on here have mentioned but was not happening.
So all in I've gone from £67.15/m to £33.25/m and £50. Pretty pleased with that.0 -
We cancelled our Sky and it was due to end yesterday.
Today we can still get the channels but no recording, pause, playback etc.
Why is this?0 -
All channels or just freesat? It continues to works as a basic freesat box after cancellation.0

Hi guys, we are currently on a family bundle with free broadband but our bill is going up from 42.40 to 50 in june.
Only took out sky last June so is it worth me ringing to try and haggle a deal?
Obviously can't cancel as still in minimum period.Moneyineptitude wrote: »Can't haggle either until the minimum period is over. You can hardly threaten to cancel, so why would Sky cut you a retention deal?
Wait until June...
Just a little tip that worked for me.
Last year I was on a deal that gave me 10 months 50% off plus £100 credit, so in effect last 2 months free. Tied in for 12 months.
At month 9 (30 days before it was due to return to full price) I rang up and gave advance notice to cancel once 12 month tie in was over.
Then the same day, on mysky, I had the usual message, come back to sky for 50% off.
I agreed the deal on Sky chat with £50 credit added, and it started from that day, meaning I didn't end up paying the 2 months full price.
So don't wait until June, give notice to cancel in June. They will give you the exact day of service termination in advance, (ie June)0 -
sky tv was up today. had a letter offering free unlimited bb for 12 months and keep sky plus, got to keep line rental for 12 months. had live chat to accept and asked about tv deals started with 35% off then with £30 credit final offer £50 credit, declined them.0

It was all channels but has changed this afternoon to only the free ones.0 -
I am also 10 days before cut off. Best offer is 35% off tv and a £50 credit. No offers on phone and broadband.
I got an incoming call today. I've accepted 50% off TV for 12 months and a £50 credit on the account. Line rental stays full price but broadband is free for 12 months.
No contract on any of the services so pretty happy with that. Had to work harder this year than last year though.0 -
I cancelled last week, had the 50% offer showing on the phone app since then. Just went on the live chat again and I have accepted the 50% for 12 months plus a £50 bill credit so I am happy.
Was also offered 35% off my current multiscreen sub but wasn't wanting that as I have a couple of Now TV vouchers I can use for the bedroom telly.0 -
Hi guys I wonder if you can help me.
I'm on Virgin, I have the 200mb broadband, M+ TV and Talk Unlimited coming in at £60 a month.
Contract is almost up and I spoke to them and the only way they would drop the price is to reduce the broadband speed.
I like the package where it is but I would like it cheaper (obviously) can anyone suggest a method to get them to drop it or give me a discount as me telling them I could go to sky seemed to have no impact once I told them I liked the broadband speed ?0 -
I currently am paying £68.27 for full sky tv package including HD and 1 multiroom, broadband and evening and weekend calls. They have said the best they can do is £93 a month so I am cancelling and hoping for a better offer. Last 2 years have had to wait a few days for a call but got a deal so fingers crossed and will report back with any other offers.
Anyone got any good retention offers recently?0
