I cancelled the Sky TV last week & have had no offers put on my page. I have now decided to go the whole quit-Sky hog & have just now signed up for the Plusnet £16.99 per month with free unlimited broadband for 12 months plus £50 cashback deal which ends tomorrow. We'll also do Freeview for a while & see how we get on with that as I'm no longer prepared to pay the best part of £500 per year for TV that we simply don't watch enough of to justify. Like the previous poster, a lot of our viewing is also on Freeview.
Anyhoo, should I inform Sky myself that we're leaving or is it automatically part of the switching process as it is with gas/electric. I don't want to be paying Sky any more than I have to. We're well out of contract.
Thanks.0 -

Thanks.
PlusNet will inform Sky as part of the switching process. You should then get an email from Sky to confirm that you're leaving.0 -
Cancelled and had the 50% offer on Sky App.
When I went on live chat the best they could offer even after some pushing was 35% and £50 credit as the deal had expired.
Looked on the Sky App T&C and it does say 35% but called the number anyway and was offered 50% straight away + a £2.50 loyalty discount for being with them a few years.
Mentioned someone I knew had got £50 credit as well and they went to "ask their manager" and came back saying yes.
So takes Family down from £36/month (soon to be £38) to £17.75/month and £50 credit.
Now to see if can do something about BB/calls/LR!0 -
I'd been with Sky for 13 months, cancelled In March & about 10 days now until it gets switched off. Before today best offer was the usual 35% off (I'm just got the tv family package). Had a call this morning, no movement on the 35% off but they added a £50 bill credit.
Refused & we'll see what happens next.Bury - 4.96kWp system

I'm 10 days before cut off, had the 35% letter, and 2 phone calls yesterday where I wouldn't discuss their offers. They asked me if I was wanting removed from the calling list, I said yes.
Just over a year ago, I got 1/2 price for either 6 months or a year (can't remember now) and the £50 credit. I think the credit was because I didn't need a new box or dish.
My thinking is it would have to be a really good deal for me to stay, I'm still in the huff that I couldn't get their £25 for 25 months deal when they were celebrating their 25 year anniversary.
So I'll probably hold out for the £30 a month for 30 months in 2019.0 -
I am also 10 days before cut off. Best offer is 35% off tv and a £50 credit. No offers on phone and broadband.0

Just a "thank you" to MSE - went on line to Sky (didn't want to pay their high phone call charges !) re the price increase for my TV package & received an almost immediate 35% reduction for 9 months-very pleased !

You must have the magic touch as I couldn't get over 25%, tried phoning, free call when on Sky bb and landline, also on the chat line but still no increase.0 -
Back in February I managed to get 50% off and £100 credit on my TV bill, but I couldn't get them to move on phone or broadband.
I'm paying £17.99 for line rental and £20/m for 40mb unlimited fibre. After a bit of research I could see that I could easily get £10/m for 40mb fibre at 2/3 other providers so called to cancel...they immediately offered me £10/m for 12months.
So, half price TV and half price fibre broadband for a year. They've certainly managed to snag me for a bit longer!!
Thanks to everyone who commented on this thread and gave me the know-how to get these great deal from them.0
