We had £9.99 line rental with evening and weekend calls until that was scrapped in Feb plus free broadband. Sky are refusing to budge so far on just offering free broadband for 12 months and pay £17.40 line rental.

Has anyone got better deals on phone/broadband yet? Who are the alternatives for cost?

Just called Sky to put a temporary halt on my sky phone line cancellation, as recommended, the lady saying "we can do you a deal" to which I responded "I have tried before but you didn't come up with anything I was happy with".

Anyway, the upshot is I was offered 50% off The Family pack and 50% off Unlimited Sky fibre (If I upgrade) for a full 12 months. They also gave me a £50* bill credit on top.

That works out £41.23 per month, for 12 months, which I'm happy with, plus I get to play with Fibre broadband, so I'm happy.

One thing to note is that there's a TV retention team and a Broadband/phone retention team. Try both for the best deals!

(*I was told there is simply no way to get £100 off as this offer has now ended)

I cant get more than 35% off and £50 credit after two attempts. Ive cancelled the family pack after taking out then cancelling a 25% offer after a week (long story on another thread :-). This offer expires after 24 hours. Doesanyone think i can better this as they dont seem like they are going to budge at the moment?

Interesting. I have the TV works and never have any problems getting at least 50% and some Credit.
Indeed my online account showed the 50% offer.
I did cancel my mother in laws account last week only the family pack which I believe is now £20 a month.
She was previously 50% discount at £8 or £9 a month.
The online account immediately showed a 35% offer.
Spent a good 20 minutes with livechat and could not get them to budge on the 35% (With new 12 month contract), only concession was £50 credit.
I even countered with 50% and only £25 credit and was knocked back.
To be fair their offer works out at 55.8% didcount over the year.
Will try again shortly and report back.
I guess the "lower end" accounts they maybe dont barter so much with.

I wouldn't put my spend of £900 per year just to watch mainly repeats is "lower end" and I could only get 25% eventually, will be cancelling in the next day or two.

For £900 per annum you should be getting a lot more than repeats as you must have sports and or movies and multi room at that rate. You will probably need to cancel to get the 50% off that most seem to be offered.

Don't have sports but have multiroomm and HD, rarely watch movies but of course that's our choice.

Tried various times to log in to live chat (I did it last year)

Every time it goes green, I click it & a pane pops up inviting me to enter my name, but, nothing ever happens thereafter. Any suggestions?

looks like they may have changed chat a bit - It now has a status - currently it alternates between amber - and green. When it turns green you are able to get a live chat session. It seems to be working form at that this point in time https://contactus.sky.com/uk/sky-tv/cancel-sky-tv

I had the same problem at work because of the browser I was using so I had to chat on my phone which took twice as long!
    #27 £2016 in 2016 = £763.61

    #42 £2 Savers Club = £160

*Savers Club not included in overall 2016 savings until the tin is opened and my estimates have been confirmed later in the year.
