2 weeks ago, I cancelled my sky package.
Last weekend I contacted them via Live Chat and needed up with 50% off any package ( multi room not included) and £100 credit on my account.
It took 13 minutes in total.

Don't wait for an offer. Go to the link in the page before this one and just tell them you hope they can better the offer you've been given (that you're about to make up).

They'll ask what the offer was. Say you were emailed 50% off and hope they can better it.

I did this on my Auntys account. Didn't even check to see if there was any offers listed just went to that link and said she'd been offered 50% off and could they better it.

This was less than 24 hours after I'd put in the cancellation for her. They did ask for any proof of the offer. Just said they couldn't better it, I said oh well okay thanks let the cancellation stand. Then they offered £50. I said I wasn't sure. They offered £100. I pushed a bit more they offered 50% off £100 credit and no new contract.

    Takes less than 15 minutes.

  • I'm slightly confused by my Sky offer. Cancelled on Sunday via webchat having been a customer for 14 years. Logging into my account I get offered 35%, on the app I get offered 50% but the t's & c's for the app state 35%!!
Going to try webchat again see what's the best they come up with.

There is no reason not to cancel, or give notice. You have plenty of time to retract it.

If you cancel can you still change your mind if they don't offer a discount ? My Wife will hit me over the head with the remote if the cancellation goes through :D

Yes, you can retract right up to the time the cancellation is done, but you will not need to wait that long. I waited a week this time and went for it via live chat as you can see in my transcript above.

  • With the June price increases, our bill was due to go up to £92 per month. Rang Sky. Threatened to cancel and got offered 35% off TV (not HD or multiscreen) for 9 months with a 12 months term. Had several goes at haggling this down further but got nowhere so told them to cancel the whole lot, knowing that we would be able to go back to them at any time in the cancellation period. Went through the cancellation procedure and within 10 minutes My Sky online was offered 35% off TV for 12 months. Looked at My Account through the Services button on the Sky remote and saw an offer for 35% off TV for 9 months. Within half an hour the Sky Service app had a screen offering us 50% off TV for 12 months. Deliberated over this for a day and then rang to accept. The 'exclusive' offer was for 50% off our TV package (not HD or multiscreen) for 12 months, with no contracted term. This will bring our monthly bill down to £58 per month, saving £34 per month (£408) over the year and with no contract, we are also not tied in. Interesting that the offers were different each time, but the Sky Service app was definitely the best deal.

You should have asked for the £100 credit, I am surprised that you could not get 50% off HD pack as they offered me any package inc HD at 50% discount,
