Yup. I got 60% off everything inc HD plus credit -only thing they wouldn't discount was multiroom - that was a bridge too far:rotfl:0
-
60% is brilliantl, they refused that for me!To infinity and beyond!0

I negotiated 50% off plus £100 credit for my Familys with movies bundle but they have worked it out wrong to my advantage and it looks like I get approx 68% a month knocked of my bundle. Heres my next couple of bills:
26 Apr - 26 May
Sky Talk Line rental - £17.40
Sky Broadband Unlimted - FREE
Family with Movies - £51.00
Viewing sub discounted - £26.50
Viewing sub discounted - £8.00
=£16.50
After price rise:
26 June - 26 July
Sky Talk Line rental - £17.40
Sky Broadband Unlimted - £7.50
Family with Movies - £55.00
Viewing discounted - £28.00
Viewing discounted - £8.00
= £19.00
So add that to my £100 credit and my sky Tv bill for the next year is £1280 -
Well, I'm in my last two week since cancelling Sky, and to be honest have drawn a blank with the retentions team.
Have the Family pack, unlimited 17mb broadband and phone and we're currently paying £55.40 per month, as out deal has expired.
Called into Carphone today and they offered the Virgin Big Easy package (TV, TiVo, phone and 50mb broadband) for £32.99 plus £100 account credit. (If I wanted just phone/broadband I could have it for around £22 per month!)
Phoned the Sky winback team and asked if they could come anywhere close and unfortunately they could only manage £42.10 per month, with £50 cashback and that's with only 17mb broadband!
£10 per month soon adds up over a year and I have reached the point where I really can't be bothered in trying to secure a good deal with Sky.
If you value your time, don't expend too much effort chasing Sky as they deals simply don't seem to be there at the moment. Turn off the TV and enjoy the sunny weather instead!0 -
I disagree entirely. The deal are there as evidenced by my new deal and those reported in the last few days by others. Did you try live chat?To infinity and beyond!0
-
Yeah, tried live chat three times so far!
Have pointed out deals left right and centre but Sky simply aren't interested in matching. They either say that they can't meet that price or suggest shenanigans by their rivals..
I suspect they have a "hit list" of customers who get offered better discounts than others. I have always had quite large discounts from Sky but never made this up by buying extras such as box sets or movies or whatever. We also hammer the broadband quite heavily and have had to have BT out on more than one occasion for flaky broadband, an issue that never got completely resolved.
We're probably not regarded as "profitable" especially when you consider how many hours we tie their service agents up for and the cost of BT visits etc.0 -

This could well be your downfall. It could easily look like you are desperate for a deal and may not actually cancel. You'll probably find the deals come flying in once you have actually left them!
I have actually cancelled. 13 days to go until switch off, I think!
Well, first one was when my deal came to an end to see what they could offer. Second one was to make the cancellation and the last one was in response to a "We'd hate to lose you phone us for a really great deal" email.
Thing is, I have spent so much time thinking about things that I have come to question how much value there is in Sky.0 -
We probably watch one or 2 chargeable movies a year, no more. Last year was my worst ever discount only 30% for 10 months. The best deals came after I cancelled and went elsewhere for a year. If I was you, I would cancel and buy a Humax freesat box which can be set up to allow you to stream recorded programs to any device..To infinity and beyond!0
