Finally! After a bit of hanging around waiting for the 'chat' to go green, got on, around 40 mins later got the following:

    £100 credit
50% off any package. I chose to stay on Family Package so £18 per month. NO 12 month contract which I was pleased about!

Couldn't negotiate a box off him, but im not too bothered. The current box works fine but would have been nice to upgrade to a wifi one. There's always Ebay if I want a 2TB version :)

Above all, very happy. I get to keep my £9.99 line rental + free broadband until my Sky BB contract runs out end May. If I let my cancellation run through my BB + line rental would have shot up to full price. But I'll still keep an eye on that bill 'just in case' their billing system screws up.

I've been using this thread as a reference point for the best deal the past few years and always happy to compare and see you're not being screwed over.

As with other people, the 50% offer is offered immediately along with £50 cash, and 12 month contract. Just be nice and politely decline and say youve been a loyal customer for x years, and in no instant this turns into £100 cash + 50% discount, and no contract as long as you dont push for a Sky Box.

I tried to push this to 60% but no joy, but am happy with the above. Last year I was offered 50% for 10 months , no contract, £100 cash, no box so happy and in line with what others are getting this year.

I have full intention to move to BT Broadband in May as long as they offer something good, and unless Sky up their game and give me an offer I can't resist :)

Whats the best people are managing with Sky Broadband?

Try this trick. As you are not in contract, just phone UK Sky. Say you have a problem with your box. They will try to get you to pay £50 for a Sky engineer to visit you. Say no and say you want to cancel your contract. I bet they will not charge anything for the Sky engineer and you will get a free box if you follow my previous advice.

I will try that in a few days once I've finished with Sopranos which I'm recording off Atlantic. I know it's on box sets but there's no subtitles on box sets :(

which dept do I need to go to? Retentions?

...Only possible issue with this route is that you MAY get a reconditioned replacement rather than a brand new box - and not all the HD+ boxes were wireless.

What link are people using to get on livechat to see about any potential deal to cancel a cancellation? Online I have the 35% offer, with a "redeem online" button. The only way i see to chat online is to go via sky tv, then cancel.... Is this the right route, seeing as I have already given notice to cancel? This year, unusually, I have had no phone call. Yet. I thought I would try the morning India chat method, but I dont mind waiting for the cancellation to actually happen, which is 14 April.

Try going into chat through https://www.sky.com/offer25 as that seems to go through to the winback team who have more offers available.

I'd say it's far more likely than not that the box will be re-conditioned. Many of these are older repaired models, but some are very new.

So I think it's more accurate to state that the OP MAY get a brand new box (or MAY not) :)

Just renewed my sky for 12 months

    Family bundle
    Sky sports with HD
unlimited fibre broadband with free line rental for the year

Total £46.00 per month, meaning an estimated saving of £600 for the year.
