My contract is up 15 April, just discovered by fluke... cancelled today.

What is the current achievable discount please, tv only.... family, sports and multiroom. I could do with one new box too, its been playing up, often cannot get rid of the blue info banner at the bottom.

    I think I had 50% and £50 credit a year ago.

So you think the Indian call centre kicks in at 11am uk time? how odd, you would think they would do the early shift.

I have got as far as seeing the 35% online, having cancelled this morning.

    Hi all

I've just renewed my sky tv at 50% off after following advice on this forum. Thank you very much

In the excitement of getting this deal I forgot to haggle and include the broadband (oops)

My broadband contract runs out on 29th March, which will go up to 7.50pm for unlimited broadband.

Any tips on getting a better deal without losing the home number would be greatly appreciated. Am prepared to give notice but am scared of losing the number (the wife is so that means I must be too)

Have tried through sky chat and they weren't able to offer anything.
Mortgage co-ordinator for a building society

I carry out affordability assessments for new and existing customers.
I update customers during the application when they call, letting them know where things are at.
I also answer existing mortgage queries.

Throughout the thread the advice is to get the best deal you do need to actually put in a cancellation notice.

Then the "standard" offer seems to be free line renal for a year + £7.50/month for BB

If you struggle to get a new box in the deal I`ve always found the best option is ebay, 2tb wifi boxes on there just now for around £100.

My experience is that the online chat retentions will not offer you a new box, just the best deal.

Also, what a palava - logged on chat this morning, all sorts of things messed up with my account> For a start someone decided to cancel my 'cancellation' request which had meant I was due to end my Sky by 25th March, and took an hour via online chat to sort that out.

Still no deals offered because my cancellation request had messed up. Anyway its on track now, will contact Retentions online tomorrow again.

Best way around that is to say there is a fault with your box (say something like there is an intermittent fault whilst recording). The engineer will won't even bother testing it. He will just replace it with a new one.

To get it for free, just threaten to cancel your contract,

I have done this trick for myself and my dad.

In my case I've already cancelled. What's the best strategy to use on the online chat page for a free box? As stated in this thread the Indian call centers tend to give best deals and that's best done in the mornings uk time

As long as you don't mind being tied in for another 12 months, a new box is easily obtainable. If you don't want a new box then you should aim for a 30 day rolling contract.

You may find that with a new box they only offer 25/30% off the package though rather than the usual 50/60% so will have to be prepared to haggle hard or let it cancel completely and go without for a while if you want a bigger discount.

I got my current deal (60% off and £50 bill credit on a 30 day contract) around late afternoon so don't get hung up on 'it has to be mornings'

    Good luck!

Put in my 30 days notice for my sky package as it's due to end.
Was paying £20 for the family bundle on a 60% off offer. My only retention offer is full price and the justification for this was I was getting a 60% discount before.

I'll just stick to Netflix I think :)
