Not bad. Has anyone done better?

I cancelled !y family package last week after being given the standard 30% off whatever. Today I got a letter for £50 credit and 50% off any package.

Tempted to let the chancelation run through as I'm sure people have done better than this

Could try the live chat and ask now, can't do any harm , I think because we are on quite basic packages they may not offer the full £100. Perhaps they will, who knows, worth a try.

Your monthly subscription will be taken from the account credit until used up then your direct debit starts.

I left a few years ago but still had all the kit. Through live chat I got Family HD £14.40 (60% off) and £100 account credit (last night).

I recently reduced my package from £70 to ~£35.

Package was due to increase following my previous years 50% off.

Placed cancellation and immediately offered 50% off on MySky. Waited a week, went onto live chat and told them I wanted 60% off and £100 credit on everything (Package is TV only - Family with HD, Movies & Multiroom). They eventually gave me 60% off Family with HD & Movies but wouldnt move on Multiroom. This was 3 or so weeks ago.

I went onto Mysky last week and clicked to cancel my multiroom, they offered me 50% off multiroom for 6 months alongside current offers.

So now paying less than £30, with my £100 credit I'm getting over 3 months free

I forgot to mention live chat actually offered the same as the letter (£50 credit and 50% off) about a week before the letter arrived.

It's been a week now since the letter and my sky switches off near the end of month. I am holding out for 60% off for family package and if I don't get it I'll let it cancel and see if they improve. Might even treat myself to sports if I can get full package for £25 like some lol

Even though I have sports on Sky go so it's not the end of the world :

Anyone got any offers for this sky Q thing? Unlikely as it's just come out so I doubt they will be giving it away just yet

How have you got Sport on Sky Go if you aren't subscribing to it ?

My s-i-l enquired about SkyQ last week - not only no offers available ,but his existing offers on TV would be gone as well!:(

With sky tv it is so easy to get the £100 credit and 50% off any tv bundle.

This week i have done it for 4 different family members. They have given me their log in details and i have done the rest every time doing exactly the same thing....

9am go on live chat tell them you want to cancel tv package , they offer you something little less say 10% you say no and they confirm cancel.

10am sign back into sky account 2 out of 4 had the offer of 50% if you click on the my sky tab.

11am click on the live chat section of thinking about coming back to sky (think that is important because you then speak to the indian centre)

All you then say is that you have been offered the 50% off (even if you haven't)and they will agree to it and probably offer you £50 credit also ,you then just say that isn't quite enough for you to stay and then they will offer you the £100 credit.

£100 credit seems max they will offer with one family member i did push a bit more as been with sky for 20 years and after the advisor speaking to manager couple of times they also offered the 50% off and £100 credit plus no 12 month contract!!

So basically within a couple of hours of cancelling you should easily be able to get new deal at fraction of price.

I have now saved family members just under £2k in total which is a crazy thought!

    Hey,

I tried this option yesterday. I was offered 20% off my TV package via the chat but cancelled however even when I log in today it's still showing that I have the full package and that my next bill is £109 when the advisor told me it would be £40. Should I contact them again in case it wasn't processed through to cancel?

There are no TV offers for me because my account still shows I have everything :S bamboozled!

    Thanks in advance :)
    #27 £2016 in 2016 = £763.61

    #42 £2 Savers Club = £160

*Savers Club not included in overall 2016 savings until the tin is opened and my estimates have been confirmed later in the year.

I am now out of contract and Sky and they cocked up my last bill, charging me £50 extra when they said they weren't going to after me complaining.

Just been on the phone, asked to cancel, offered 10% off. Declined and asked for cancellation to be processed.

Logged into My Sky 10 mins later, 50% off for 12 months offer sitting there.

Is it advisable to wait and see if they make a better offer?

Just an update to the above. I logged into My Sky this Monday, the 50% off for 12 months was now 35%.

I went onto the Live Chat option as many have mentioned, got through to an Indian call centre rep. I started off by saying I was considering reversing the cancellation but had seen the 50% they offered me (didn't mention 35%) and would be interested but it was still quite expensive. He almost immediately offered me 60%.

I then asked what my costs would be per month and did the 60% off include the cost of multiroom as I currently have that. He said it wouldn't as its 60% of the TV packages, and that my costs incl multiroom would be approx £38 per month. I said that was still quite a bit for multiroom and he then offered me a £100 account credit.....which I agreed to.

Just for further info, my mate at work did same route. His only difference was that he firstly went onto live chat in the afternoon and got a UK based operator. The best he was getting there was 50% and £50. He didn't take up the offer. He then went back on the following morning and after a wee bit haggling they offered him the 60%/£100. They did however reference that he had been on the previous afternoon and had been offered "their best deal" so it took a bit more chat to get the deal he ended up with. So for info, they are aware of your previous conversations.

    Morning all!

Just called Virgin Media, to basically try to get a discount on my package. Not had one applied for a while, so thought it about time to try my luck. I've watched my price go from £45pm to now £70pm, even though I was told the price was for 'life'.

Just finished speaking to one of the guys via a chat panel and they're unable to do anything, but offer me a discount of £3 a month - which would then tie me to another 12m service.

Fifteen years I've been with VM and their inability to offer any flexibility to existing customers is shocking. Anyone care to advise?
