I am now out of contract and Sky and they cocked up my last bill, charging me £50 extra when they said they weren't going to after me complaining.

Just been on the phone, asked to cancel, offered 10% off. Declined and asked for cancellation to be processed.

Logged into My Sky 10 mins later, 50% off for 12 months offer sitting there.

Is it advisable to wait and see if they make a better offer?
I was in a similar situation a few months ago.

Try going to online chat. If you are lucky, you will speak to someone in India. I have tried this trick for the last 2 years when I have renewed. This year, I managed to get 50% off TV, £50 credit and not in a contract.

Some people have managed to get 60% off and £100 credit.

Try online chat and see wot happens.
  • Retentions offered me this yesterday

    100 meg BB
    XL TV
    EVENING AND WEEKEND CALLS
    SKY MOVIES
    2 TiVo boxes
    1 hd box

£68 per month inc line rental

Is this a good deal or should I hold out for more . Thanks

I cancelled my Sky TV package about a month or so a go. They phoned me and offered me various things within the month but I honestly wasn't interested.

As soon as my cancellation went through I received a letter offering me 50% off any package for the next 12 months, again not interested.

They have tried to call my home and my mobile but I have truecaller and never picked up.

Today I received my third letter with an offer from Sky. Pretty much blown away with this one and I may be tempted back! They have offered me the complete bundle for £25 a month for 12 months or as an alternative the family bundle for £12 a month....

Sit tight kids and be prepared to go without for a short while and the offers will come!

I cancelled last week and so far no calls. I can honestly do without the tv for a while especially if it means offers like the above!!

They usually offer family for £14.40 and £50 credit pretty much instantly.

So that works out at less than a tenner a month.
  • Does anyone remember upgrading to Tivo and being told they could keep their V+ boxes for free and move them to another room?

I was definitely told that and am now horrified to find I have been paying for them £6.50 per month (x2 is £13 pm).

I have rung retentions and they now say you are paying for the streaming to that box and not the box itself...... I have to put in a complaint to listen back to phone calls when the contract was first taken out. I am really cross as I know what I was told and I bet they come back saying they didn't.

Has anyone else ever had this sort of problem or remember we were allowed to keep their old boxes? :(

Whatever response you get won't help your own individual case.

Put in the complaint as advised and take it from their reply

No call for me so far :( I think last year I used online chat after cancelling and I got family for £19 pm and £50 credit with no contract for 10 mpnths
I'm happy to wait it out a couple of weeks see how it goes

I gave my 30 days notice as usual was offered nothing or asked for anything, 5 mins later 50% off any package was on my sky app .
Received a phone call 2 days later to offer 35% off with £100 Credit refused as 50% off was on my sky
Said I would stay for last years offer 60% £100 credit
Was offered 50% off £100 credit , refused again

1 hour later I went on to come back to sky live chat said I had a offer on mysky of 50% £100 credit to come back and if he could better it.

Was immediately offered the complete package with HD free for £25 a month and £100 credit , so effectively 75% off and £100 credit , I always find the Indian operators easier to negotiate with .
All done and dusted within a week of notice given
Will be back again in 12 months

Totally agree. I have been lucky over the last 2 years as I have always dealt with an Indian operator and they have offered really good deals.
