    Morning!

    Called up to cancel Sky on the 4th Jan, got quite a few calls after then from a number in Derby, never had chance to answer. Finally answered yesterday and it was a lady from Sky offering me 50% off the TV for the year. Took it straight away, I think if I held off a bit longer I maybe could have got more, but I was happy enough with the 50% (same as last year)

    She also said to ring the broadband dept as they might have offers for me too. So I went on the live chat. I have also managed to get 50% Sky Fibre Broadband for the year as well.

    A good day all in all. Hope you are as successful, if not more, than I have been.

    Family TV Package = £18
    Line Rental = £17.40
    Calls = £4
    Fibre Broadband = £10

    Total = £49.40
  • Cancelled on the 13th... Wonder how long it is before they start calling.. Nothing is showing online yet either... fingers crossed!

    It took 2 weeks before I heard anything about an offer and it was via email. Even if you don't hear anything, you can ring up near your termination date and ask what is the best deal they'll offer you to cancel your termination. I got an initial offer of 50% off any tv package plus a £50 credit. I said I knew people who had been offered more so they gave me 60% off plus £50 credit with no contract. You'll get your discount even if you have to ask for it. Good luck.

    I genuinely would like to cancel with VM, but during the 2nd week of March.

    Do I ring up and give 30 days notice prior to that then ?

    I am just worried as VM tend to do things instantly when ever I have rung up in the past.

    Thanks for all your help peeps! Will just sit here patiently until they send something, If not will try then. Awfully annoying loyalty (15-20 yrs) means nothing and all the new customers get the discounts.. still they gotta make money somehow..

    Just came to the end of my BT Infinity 2 contract. Last bill was paying £52.55 for line rental, broadband and BT Sport. Never use the home phone for calls.

    Called BT and was offered £39.81 to stay if I dropped the BT Sport to BT Sport Lite. No thanks, just signed up to Talk Talk who are doing equivalent fibre package in my area for £10 for 12 months rising to £15 for the remainder of the 18 month contract so with their line rental £27.70 followed by £32.70.

    May be better options but happy with that.

    BT tried to get me to stay by saying Talk Talk throttle their speeds. Talk Talk however claim they don't.

    In addition to the above, I received an email from BT noting my move to another provider. It indicated my BT Sport would continue separately unless I called to cancel. Upon doing so I was offered a further deal of £33 something to remain with them on BT Infinity 2 only. I declined.
  • Our bill has gone from £45 to £68

    We are out if contract so I called the other day, they offered to take our bill back down to £48.

    We had BB, line rental, TV variety package.

    I was hoping to get a better deal. Am I asking too much? what is BT or Talk Talk like?
  • Hi all

    Just put my 31 days notice in today so will report back with what they offer me if anything.

    Sky don't seem to be as bothered anymore about keeping customers, in fact I think they are quite rude.

  • I called and cancelled Virgin last week - they made me an offer but it was pants.

    So waiting to see if they come back to offer more - 12th Feb is the day!
