I just have sky for tv, got rid of sports a while ago and been thinking of packing it in altogerther, currently paying £29 for the entertainment package, was offered £18 per month on live chat and now have a 50% off any package in mysky, I gave my 31 days notice 3 days ago so will see what else they offer.

18 month contract ending in March with BT. I have unlimited infinity 1, free calls evenings and weekends, entertainment TV package with kids extra add-on and also BT Sport. Current price for this package is £63.19 and guy offered to drop to approx £39.50 to re-new for another 12 months.

My first thoughts, without checking the forum, is that this is actually a pretty decent deal. Problem is that my time with them has not what i would call trouble-free. Guy said he saw this against my account and that is why he made such an offer.

I have an email contact at the executive complaints team and might ask him if he can give me a mail to confirm if things go 'up the left' again i can leave without any charge. I forgot to mention i can leave at the moment without any early termination charge because of the hassles i've had in the past 15 months and have this in writing.

If i can continue with this clause in place i just may go for it knowing i have this get out of jail card.

Any thoughts on the price guys or anything else for that matter!

    cheers

Went for this today. Quite pleased!! So 12 months contract and got-

Line rental (paying monthly), evening & w/end calls, Unlimited Infinty 1, Entertainment Plus with Kids extra bolt and BT Sport for £39.60 a month.

They are also going to credit my account with nearly £90 (3 months infinity charges and 3 months Bt Sport charges) because of my complaint with them.

And the MAIN reason for choosing this deal is that i have in writing that should speeds drop 10% below my minimum speed and they can't fox then i can bail at no cost!

Phoned Sky and guy offered me a similar package on Family Bundle TV for cost of £67. This doesn't even factor in cost of BT Sport on top of that!!

Guy at Sky is going to work on it and phone later but i just can't see them getting close.

    I cancelled my account - 5 mins
Made some tea - 10 mins
Told the house Im cancelling Sky - 2 mins
    Faces of despair - Priceless
Got in touch with Sky again - 2 mins
They came back to me with 50% off plus credit on the account - 8 mins
Few more mins to sign off.

30 minutes in total and they dropped to 50%. Had I waited I could've got better but couldn't be bothered this year. Usually Im sat on 75% off

You MUST be commited to start the cancellation process. If youre paying summat daft on the basic package like someone posted above, you've only got yourself to blame.

Word of Advice : Don't mention the competition to Sky. If they ask why you want to leave, just say you'll look for better offers later but its costing you too much. They'll offer you some stuff. Just cancel it.

    Hi all,

I'm currently with BT for phone and BB. I pay £50 for Infinity 2 with weekend calls.

My contract expires in exactly 1 month from today.

TalkTalk are currently the cheapest, PlusNet next (although they don't offer true unlimited) and BT are the most expensive by a mile.

Has anyone managed to negotiate cheaper Infinity 2 BB with BT?

    Thanks all :)
  • Currently Paying £128 per month, Full TV inc all channels HD movies, and sport in two rooms, unlimited fibre BB and evening/weekend calls. Best I've been offered is £110 ! Been with sky for over 15 yrs...
Wondering if I shall just give 30 days notice and hope for the best?! I don't understand how some people get some amazing discounts!?!

They give their notice and wait for the offers.
  • Never had the guts to cancel as we dont have much luck... Have just found out am still in contract for the fibre BB. So have given the notice to cancel the TV with the hope that we get better offers from their winback team...

You have to give 30 days notice and always have the option of calling then again on day 29 to say you have changed your mind.
  • Is this a reasonable offer from Sky. I have BB (not fibre) phone anytime calls and tv variety pack which does not have films, sports or kids, plus HD and multi room. I pay £82 a month and they have offered an £18 discount for a year. I am happy with with Sky but as an OAP need to reduce a few bills now. Should I try again to better this or cancel and see if they offer more.

I cancel tv,but not phone and broadband, as cancellation can be problematic.

When I get a decent phone/broadband offer, I then negotiate tv.

At the moment, I have Original tv, line, ADSL broadband and Anytime Plus calls for an effective £22.53(when taking the £50 credit into account).
