  • I have been on a 50% deal for the last 12 months and cancelled SKY about three weeks ago, and immediately got the 50% off deal in My Sky. After a couple of weeks got both an email and letter offering 50% + £50 bill credit. Went on the online chat a few days ago and was offered 60% + £50 bill credit with very little hassle. Even managed to get to 60% off the HD as well, which I didn't last year. Accepted this deal as it was much better that last years deal and the £50 bill credit means the first two months will not cost me anything. I was surprised how much easier it was this year to get a good deal than last year. The only real issue was cancelling SKY in the first place, only offered 30% to stay and making overly complicated to cancel.
  • Hi, thought I would post new sky and virgin deal...

Was on sky for years, decided to move to virgin almost a year ago, and cancelled when received the price increase letter.

After haggling with sky to rejoin on live chat, signed up to tv only with my old box @ 60% off +£100 credit.

Decided to retain virgin for bb and line rental after they called me up to retain and offered FREE line rental and 100 meg bb at £14 a month for a year. All in 14.40 for sky family pack and 14 for virgin fibre 100 meg..less £100 credit, oh and a £10 tesco voucher!!

It does seem though that sky live chat can offer the best deal and the same goes for virgin OUTBOUND retentions..

Needless to say I went for some sports and movies for a month!☺

    Merry Christmas

Best offer with Live chat was 50% off tv and £50 credit, nothing off line rental or broadband. I asked for £100 credit but they refused said cannot do that. I've been out of contract for a week now and had no better offer than 50% off tv. I've gone with BT, who are installing today, was hoping for a better offer off sky before the install but nothing

Was this 50% off the whole package or just sky TV? I would have stayed if had got 50% off the whole package but they wouldn't budge

Hi all. thought I`d share my experiences. Been with Sky for about 8 years and always had small discounts since year 2, 20% off for 8 months, 25% off for 12 months etc. Never managed to bag the big ones that I always read about on here.
Being addicted to sport, having a wife at home and 2 children who love the kids channels I`ve never had the balls to go down the cancellation route.
Tried the Live chat again today as my latest discount was about to run out in Feb, as a lady was above, I was only offered £10 off a month. Declined this and was told my bill would then be £66.75 per month so went through with cancellation.
As soon as it went through I logged onto My Sky and an offer was there for 50% off for 12 months. Couldn`t believe it. Clicked on the live chat button to accept it....politely said I`d accept if they could give me a little account credit and was given £50 as most people seem to get. Must admit I got a bit confident here and tried subtly to push to £100 but was told they couldn`t offer. Never the less accepted the offer and am now getting the same package for £28.68 instead of £66.75 for the next 12 months.
Thanks all for the advice. I`d encourage anyone to give it a go.

Just did exactly the same as above for my Dad. Except when I clicked to activate the new deal on my sky she asked what the deal showing was and I told a white lie and said it was 60%, instead of 50%, deal went through no problem! Including the £50 credit also.

Not a 'white' lie, which is a lie told to save someone from hurt.

Sorry, a white lie as in it never hurt anyone. Anyway, only trying to help people out. Thought that was the point.
