What kind of deals are people getting for Sky broadband? Current deal finishes in 2 weeks and am planning on calling this week. TIA.

Try TalkTalk. They are offering some very good deals at the moment. Then speak to Sky to see if they can match or beat their deals.

I am dealing with Plusnet and unless they at least match them, I will go to TalkTalk.

All good fun as they say.

Was offered £1.50 unlimited bb with £17.50 line rental. Offered a new router as been having a few issues for free. Accepted this until they tried to Bill me £6.99 for delivery of said router which he wouldn't waive. Priced fibre which would have been an extra £8.50 a month with all extra equipment foc. Going to shop around as I've said been having a few probs with current sky bb.

If you order online, b/band is free for 12 months which will cover the postage cover of your router. They are also offering a £60 LTS voucher.

    See https://sales.talktalk.co.uk/.

I am going to wait as I think TTalk offers will get even better over the next few weeks as they will lose many customers due to the database problems last year.
  • Anyone got any good deals on Virgin - my contract is up at the end of the month.

Annoyingly I can only get Virgin as I don't have a BT box installed in my flat - though I usually tell them I'm going to someone else to get a better offer ;-)

Right been offered both of these with sky. My current Unlimited broadband £1.50 per month, £17.40 line rental. Sky fibre unlimited £10 per month plus £17.40 line rental with free router, no activation fee. Only charge is £6.95 delivery. My question is is this a good deal and is fibre worth it?

Is it a good deal ? I suggest no because TTalk would do unlimited b/band for free. I am with Plusnet at moment with totally free unlimited b/band. They have offered to renew it for free for next 12 months. I will not take it yet with Plusnet as I think T/Talk will offer better deals with b/band and phone over the next few weeks and I will use it to barter with Plusnet before I renew.

I suggest you tell Sky that you can get free unlimited b/band with T/Talk. Sky should match and offer free b/band.

I think TalkTalk fibre costs £8.50 per month so mention to Sky as well to see if they will match their offer.

Do you need fibre ? Depends what you use b/band for. If you play games and do a lot of downloads, then maybe yes. If you using b/band for downstreaming movies, browsing, watching BBC Iplayer, etc. I suggest you will not need fibre.

I have been offered fibre but, at the moment, I have declined. For me, I get almost 17MB with my ASDL line so there is no value in me taking fibre for what I use b/band for.

    HTHs.

    Afternoon All

Put my notice in for my Sky TV yesterday and doing the usual waiting game (I've had 50% off for around 5 years now)

I was just wondering, I'm currently on Fibre Broadband which is £20 a month. Have any of you had any luck in getting any money knocked off this?

    Thanks

We're currently paying £50p/m for basic TV, 8Mb unlimited broadband, evening & w/end calls.

TalkTalk are offering TV plus YouView box, unlimited fibre, same phone deal, all for £22.70 for 12 months then £37.70 afterwards.

A Sky Live Chat advisor has just offered me my existing Sky package for £35.50 (note no fibre). I seriously doubt they'll be able to come any closer to TalkTalk's offer, so I guess I'll be leaving them very soon.

My advice is to cancel Sky and see what they come up with in terms of matching T/talk. If they don't, wait for 30 days before going to T/talk to see wot Sky offer.

Out of interest, does your T/talk offer include phone line rental ?

Been on live chat with sky a couple of times since they've received my notice to transfer to BT. Every time they've said they can't offer me very good deals now that the cancellation has been requested by BT. Which begs the question how is everyone else managing to do a deal in these circumstances?
