Was seriously considering just doing without Sky but I caved this morning after about 3 weeks with no service.
Just been on Live Chat, was immediately offered 50% off any TV package, with £50 credit.
Told them I'd had an email offer and the same on My Sky for 60% off any package for 12 months, plus £100 credit and if they couldn't match that -with no contract - there was no point in us continuing the chat.
I was happy to send a copy of the email or screenshot My Sky but advisor said it wasn't necessary to do either, and was happy to confirm that deal for me, plus gave me free HD on Sports and Movies, without me asking. All no contract.
Very pleased with the outcome again. :T Although I do think it's a silly game having to go through this performance every 12 months!0 -
@Dawning -ace deal - I couldn't get my deal without a 12 month tie in -but I did get a new box!!0

Previously had Sky Original bundle + Movies + Sports. With standard broadband and line rental this came to just over £90.
I called to cancel just over a month ago. I was bombarded with calls but I can't take calls when I'm at work. Did manage to answer one call and was offered 50% discount and £50 credit either for 12 months (with 12 month contract) or 10 months without contract which I declined.
I received the same 50% offer in the post. I also received an offer in the post which said if I committed to 12 months broadband, I would get standard broadband for free and be able to keep all the Sky+ features including players on the Sky box. Just had to pay the monthly line rental of £17.40. Not seen or heard of this before but I guess it makes sense for Sky as they could get income from Sky Store and you might be tempted to come back at some stage.
Unlike others on here, my online account did not show any offers. I could view bills etc but when I clicked on offers it said I had to call. I also clicked on the 'Left Sky TV in the last 12 months' option but it didn't seem to recognise me. I also didn't receive any email offers (although my marketing preferences showed email, phone and post as checked).
Decided to do an online chat just after the service was switched off and was offered 60% off all packages and up to £70 credit. I decided to change to the Family bundle, Movies and HD Pack for £23 with £70 credit. Not quite as good as Dawning with £100 credit but I'm happy enough. Also received confirmation that the 12 month minimum that I committed to wouldn't prevent me from upgrading to Sky Q when launched next year (although we haven't seen the prices yet and it may be that I will be able to start a new subscription at full cost rather than buy a new box). Online account shows the changes.
Will now look at broadband options as I'd like to upgrade to fibre. Anyone get anything better that £10 + £17.40 line rental for fibre unlimited?0 -
i gave notice weeks ago and got the usual 50% off in my sky login, last night i decided to do online chat before my finished next week and i wanted a new hd plus box thrown in so they gave me 60% off everything and half price multi room all for 12 months and the new box too, £39 for all channels with sports movies and hd too.
could have had it for £30 without the new plus box but weve had this years and its getting abit dicky!!!0 -
I am currently out of contract for everything but have a very good contract free offer on my TV so am happy to keep it.
Sky are not playing ball at all with retentions on broadband and phone. Going through live chat for cancellation all the offers are terrible. Am I speaking to the wrong people?0 -
Incidentally, how are BT for retention deals right now? I'll look back through the thread but any advice welcome.0

60% off 12 months with £50 credit is the latest offer i had. I declined. Sky goes on the 19th Dec unless the offer is improved0

Good luck with that. I'm not under contract but on a 50% deal for another 3 months. I'm contemplating moving to A combination of Netflix and iplayer to get my box sets fix.0 -
Cancelled on Friday and Sky presented me with 2 offers:
50% off for 10 months minimum 12 month contract
or
33% off fixed for 5 years minimum 12 month contract.
Time to play the waiting game......
Received a few calls from a Derby based number but missed them all. When I finally did answer it was the retentions team at sky.
Without any fuss or need to explain why I cancelled in the first place they gave me 60% discount for 10 months, £100 credit and a new SKY HD box, even though i've only had the existing one for 10 months all without a contract so i'm still free to cancel anytime.
Definitely worth persevering and don't accept sky's first offer.
Same again next October! :rotfl::T0 -

I called BT earlier in the week to test the water about my BB renewal (I also have BT sport via sky with them) and they weren't interested in any deal.
This was only an exploratory call because my contract doesn't expire until Jan so it will be interesting to see if that's still their stance then!0
