    Thanks Stephen.

I am just a bit wary of cancelling in case I don't get any decent offers, and don't really want to be without Sky over Christmas and new year.

Also, would I then lose everything recorded on my sky+ box as I have a lot of unwatched programs on there?

Is it a 30 day cancellation period? If so, if I cancelled and didn't get any offers could I cancel the cancellation before it takes effect?

    Thank you.

Yes you can cancel the cancellation before it takes effect and yes you would lose your recordings. You have to give 31 days notice to cancel.

Make sure your contact details are correct on My Sky and you have selected you want to be contacted with regards marketing and offers. I think it is under My Account on My Sky but I am sure someone will confirm. You need to do this; otherwise they won't contact you with any good offers.

    HTHs.
  • Forgot to mention that when I spoke to Sky yesterday, they told me that I may not got any new deals as I have had 50% off for a while lol. I took this with a pinch of salt lol.
  • Just cancelled as all they could offer me was the full package normally £87 (with Family, HD ,multi-room, Sport & Movies) for £67.
Let's see if they email me a deal to stay.
  • I have been with Sky since the 1990's have a Sky World package with sports and movies and HD and 1 multiroom.

For the last 4 years I have phoned Sky and have cancelled. Irrespective of what they offer initially I go through and cancel. Without fail every year they have phoned me to cut another deal of 50% or better.

I am just coming to the end of a 12 month 50% off TV with 50% off HD and multiroom and £100 credit. I told then I have retired now and I am going to make do with Prime Instant and BT Sport. They offered straight away 50% for 10 months which I declined and cancelled. The 50% offer for 12 months offer then appeared on my Sky account.

I shall just wait for them to call. If they don't I shall renew when the 60% offer arrives after cut off. So far I have never failed to get a good deal before the 31 day notice period expires.

If you are reading this and wondering whether or not to cancel, then just do it, cancel your TV subscription and wait for the deals to be offered. At worst you will get the 50% off any TV package for 12 months which will appear in your My Sky account.

I Will report back how I get on.
  • Totally agree. I have done this now for a few years.
