Just phoned to cancel sky - got a great deal last year when I swapped my broadband from talktalk to add it to my sky tv package for £25 a month. It's now gone up to £38. First was offered it for £33 then she said she could get it to £30 after I said to go ahead with the cancellation. It is now set for the 31 days! It's the easiest they've ever given up in the 8 years I've been with them. How long does it take to get set up with others? I don't want to be in a situation where I have no internet but am hoping they might come back with another offer!
I am thinking of either plus net or talktalk. Might just stick to broadband and get rid of all tv but will really miss the plus part of sky - we tend to series link then bing watch stuff!0 -
Yes by getting new tablet and upgrading to family pack you are starting a new 12month contract.
Where with the deal sky offered before you can cancel anytimeI was on the Family pack on a previous 50% off deal which was due to end next month. Gave my notice last week and negotiated a deal for 50% off for 12 months and £50 credit on chat 2 days back, but downgraded to the Variety pack voluntarily at the same time.
Then, I signed in to my Sky account via Quidco and upgraded my package back to the Family pack (£18 per month after the 50% discount).
The £50 is already showing on my account as an account credit. The £30 Quidco offer has tracked and I've also just received a Samsung Galaxy Tab E for upgrading to the Family pack.
Didn't expect the tab to arrive to be honest, let alone so soon! Well chuffed. :jAll i want to do is save save save0 -
I have Sky telephone anytime, BB, multi room and Variety pack tv totalling £82 month. Have been onto Sky and 1st offer was £18 discount. Two days later rang back and now got offered £12 discount. I have said I wish to keep BB and telephone and cancelled the TV which is £50 per month. They would not offer any more discount. Should I ring and cancel BB and telephone and see if I can get a better offer or wait for a few weeks and see if they make contact with a better offer. How do others get the great deals like 50% discounts. Help please0

You have cancelled your TV, which is a good move. Log onto your MySky and you should see a 50% off deal.
If not, wait for 30 days. Just before your 30 days is up, try online chat and with luck, you will get a helpful Indian. I have done this for the last 2 years and have got at least 50% off deals on my TV. You could wait for over 30 days for the cancellation to take effect. Sky will then send you emails and letters offering deals. I think the best deal at the moment is 60% off plus £50 credit.
With regards b/band and phone, be careful. My suggestion is to find another supplier and move your b/band and phone to them. It normally takes 14 days to do the transfer. If you cancel your bband and phone with Sky, you run the risk of being without them so my advice is not to cancel and move them to another supplier.

I've just put in my tv cancellation notice last night as the offers weren't suitable. I've logged into my sky several times and can't see any decent offers. I take it I'm unlikely to see anything now since others are seeing 50% off straight away. Am I more likely to have to be disconnected now?0

It took about a week for mine to show so there's still plenty of time I think.0 -
